Guy Dean Paysour, Sr.

Guy Dean Paysour, Sr., 78, of Shelby, NC, passed away on September 10, 2026 at his home. Born May 30, 1948 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late George Theodore Pasour and Earsie Grigg Wood. He was also preceded in death by his son Glenn Paysour, grandchildren Brooke Paysour and Adam Kale Wood, and brothers George Jr., Jerry, and Donnie Paysour.

Dean retired from Osage Mill (formerly known as Reeves Brothers Textiles) in Bessemer City after working for many years as a supervisor. He was an avid motorcycle rider who undertook many cross-country trips and rode through 48 continental states and Canada. He honed his photography skills by capturing countless photos and videos of family, friends, trips, and vacations. In addition to motorcycles, he loved driving or riding anything with a motor, such as golf carts, hot rods, and boats. He enjoyed cruise vacations with his wife and family, fishing, shooting guns, and playing cards with his brothers and father. Dean got a kick out of performing magic tricks for his grandchildren. He was a fan of Dale Earnhardt and rock 'n' roll music. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and PawPaw.

Dean is survived by his wife Faye Bridges Paysour, son Guy Dean Paysour II (Debbie), stepchildren Tammy Ramsey (Trey), Tony Wood (Sarah), and Bobby Wood (Suzy), and grandchildren Christopher Glenn Paysour II, Erika Phillips, Julie Paysour, Hannah Thompson, Hayden Wood, Drew Wood, Alex Ramsey, Emily Bradley, Michelle Cook, Susan Dixon, Chris Thomasson and Isaac Holt. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Close friends Jerry Stacy (Juanita) and Tommy Rucker (Cheryl).

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Terry Floyd officiating

Gary Alexander Martin, 41, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2026. Born October 10, 1984 in Kings Mountain, NC, Gary brought an abundance of joy into the world from the very beginning. He was the beloved son of Cynthia (Cindy) Clark Martin. Gary grew up in Kings Mountain, where he made lifelong memories and went on to graduate from Kings Mountain High School in 2002. At 41, Gary had a vibrant spirit and so much life ahead of him. He will be forever remembered for his bigger than life personality, big smile, quick wit and kindness. He loved family get- togethers, finding a good bargain and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his dearly beloved great grandmother, Sadie King Burton and his grandfather, William N. Clark.
Left to cherish his memories in addition to his mother, is his daughter, Braelyn Inscoe, whom Gary loved to the moon and back. (As he often told her) His grandmother Mary Burton Clark, Gary D. Martin, Dewayne Clark (Jana), Wade Clark, Melany Bolin (Danny) and Many, Many cousins who Gary loved and they loved Gary, and so so many friends.

Gary's unwavering love for his mother, Cindy, and his daughter, Braelyn was beautiful and will not be forgotten.

MEMORIAL SERVICE and VISITATION: The family will hold a visitation followed by a short memorial service on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Second Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Pastor Dennis Pruitt officiating.

The family requests no flowers be sent for the service.

Born December 22, 1950 in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Elvin Earley Bradley and was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Larry Harmon Bess. granddaughter, Amanda Christine Putnam. Gail was a talented gardener who nurtured a large collection of houseplants and beautiful flowers. She was a longtime member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church. Gail was a loving mother and Grandma.

Mary Helen Alexander, 101, of Kings Mountain, NC, joined her Heavenly Father on September 05, 2026 at White Oak Manor - Kings Mountain in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born November 20, 1924 in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Horace and Ethel Heavner Allman and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Reverend Randolph Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dean, Earl, and Carl Allman and two sisters, Frances Jones and Linda McClain and a great Granddaughter, Lilly. Mary Helen worked in textiles most of her life. Along with her husband, she was instrumental in the founding of Holiness Christian Ministry in 1978 which was dedicated to serving the community and sharing God's love. Mary Helen was devoted to the church and assisted in every aspect of church life. She taught Sunday School, led worship, witnessed to countless people and any other task that needed completed. She will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering faith, generous but fiery spirit, kind heart, and deep love for her family. Helen leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children, grandchildren. great-grandchildren, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey. Helen's life was a testament to faith, love, family, and faithful service. Her legacy will continue to live through the generations who were blessed to know her love.

Cynthia Ann Wright Wood, 60, of Gastonia, NC, passed away on September 01, 2026 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She was born December 14, 1965 in Cleveland County, NC, and was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Smith Wright. Cindy worked in hotel management, most recently as the manager of the Marriott, Spring Hill Suites in Concord, NC. She enjoyed staying active and was an avid shopper, enjoying countless shopping trips with her daughters. She was a fan of reality television. Cindy looked forward to the holiday season every year. Each Christmas season began a little bit earlier for her every year. She loved decorating her home and yard and supervising her family, making sure they placed the decor and lights just right. Cindy cherished time spent with her family on vacations. Her yearly birthday mountain trips, her many visits to Florida, and her Disney trips with her grandchildren were some of her favorite memories. Cindy was a dedicated mother, wife, daughter, sister and grandmother, always making sure her family was number one in her life. She possessed such a sweet spirit, everyone around Cindy felt at ease and loved. She always lit up any place she entered. Cindy loved gathering with her loved ones and often hosted family events in order to spend time with those she cared for. The memories created by and with Cindy will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her, and will be cherished for a lifetime by those who loved her.

Tammy Lynnette Carroll, 57, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 30, 2026 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. She was born August 28, 1969 in Cleveland County, NC. Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Larry Lewis Carroll, step-father, Robert "Bobby" Ernst, and her grandparents, Opal and Lewis Carroll and Lois and Howard Bolt. Tammy was of the Baptist faith. She worked in textiles most of her life, dedicating many years of service to Ruppe Hosiery. Tammy was an avid music lover, especially classic rock and roll from the 1980's. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Tammy will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved her.

Shirley Gail Sellers Dixon, 91, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026 at her home. She was born August 12, 1935 in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late George and Grace McDaniel Sellers and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Gene Dixon and her brother, Bobbie Keith Sellers. Gail was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She retired from Kings Mountain District Schools after many years of dedicated service. She served as the Library Assistant at Central School, as a secretary in the central office and as a secretary at Kings Mountain Junior High School during her career. Gail enjoyed staying active, taking walks at Cleveland Mall, and tending to her home. She enjoyed traveling, cruising and visiting old friends when she had the opportunity. Gail possessed a determination that is rare in people. She always kept going, no matter the obstacle in her way. Her spirit and heart was full of kindness and she was an example to all. She showed us how to treat people in her everyday life. Gail was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always had a nice word for everyone she met. The memory of her kindness, determination and love will be cherished by all who knew and loved her for a lifetime.

Michael Donovan "Boo" Paysour

Michael Donovan "Boo" Paysour, 54, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 12, 2026. He was born February 28, 1972 in Cleveland County, son of the late Donovan Paysour. He was also preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Donald and Earsie Woods. Michael graduated from Kings Mountain High School with the Class of 1990 and lettered in football. He served his country honorably for six years in the US Navy, including time spent stationed in Kuwait during the Gulf War. He attended Gaston College and North Carolina State University and spent more than 20 years as a nuclear engineer with Duke Energy.

Michael was a lifelong sports fan with a particular passion for football, an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and lifelong supporter of the Kings Mountain High School Mountaineers. He could often be found in the stands cheering the Mounties to victory under the Friday night lights. Michael also cherished all the time he was able to spend with his friends hanging out at the Kings Mountain Country Club. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 155 in Kings Mountain and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Michael's primary dedication in life was to his boys, Angelo and Dominic. He was a devoted parent who went above and beyond to provide and fill as many roles as humanly possible for his sons.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons Angelo and Dominic Paysour, mother Pamela Cogdell, and sisters , Carolyn Helms (Dennis), Kathryn Bennett (Gary), Tammy Paysour and Savannah Paysour

Rebecca Gayle Camp, 78, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at White Oak Manor. Becky was born on November 14, 1947, in Gaston County to the late Earl and Virginia McKinney Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Benjamin Camp, whom she lovingly cared for during his battle with Alzheimer’s, and her only sibling, Teresa Foster.

Becky was a loving wife, mom, and grandmother. She attended Midview Baptist Church for many years and retired from Hanesbrands after working in textile quality control for most of her career. She loved sewing, working in her yard, growing flowers, and spending time with the people she loved. Becky was a big dog lover and missed her sweet Baby Girl dearly. She also enjoyed keeping up with family, friends, and the community on Facebook.

Becky had a kind heart and a strong spirit. She gave so much love to her family, and her wisdom, strength, and caring nature will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Survivors: Her daughter, Jenny Campbell and husband Richard, of Kings Mountain; and grandson, Caleb Ivie and wife Melissa, of Kings Mountain.

There will be a private entombment at Westview Gardens Cemetery, Bessemer City NC
