Did you know that May through June is climbing season at Mount Everest. The weather is more favorable for climbing, making it safer to reach the summit. This year more than 1,000 climbers and guides reached the summit, making it the busiest Everest season on record.
* A record 274 climbers summited in a single day from the Nepal side on May 21, breaking the previous one-day record.
