Want to avoid chemical bug repellants and harsh essential oils?

Try this simple, natural and gentle on the skin hack:

1. 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla extract (non alcohol with a glycerin base)

2. Mix into a full mister bottle of distilled or filtered water and shake

And that’s it! I like to use a glass bottle -you can find them on Amazon. I make sure to spray my arms, back of neck, etc multiple times when outdoors and the mosquitoes are out. You can also spray around your immediate environment.

I’ve personally found this really effective but our body chemistries differ, so you’ll have to try it and see for yourself!

Hi 👋

I’ve been a little MIA, but life in the 3 dimensional world gets busy!

As a refresher 🍹-I’m a Registered Dietitian, Nurse, and Diabetes Specialist for well over a decade for each credential

Taking my health into my own hands decades ago set me on my path to being a health care practitioner (although the sciences/biology/anatomy -you get the idea -have always been my favorite subjects and poring over research articles has always been more fun vs work for me)

I also have a journalism degree, and had wanted to become an investigative journalist -over 25 years ago I’d written an article about the controversies and dangers surrounding soy for a journalism class -YES, people had their doubts way before Tik Tok lol

I take a common sense , get down to the fundamentals , approach to nutrition and human health

Rather than look through the medical diagnostic lens of trying to find what’s ‘wrong’ and call it a day -I like to take it a step further and question what, on the outside, is making things wrong in our body.

I learned this for myself through a long , laborious path and my aim is to shorten that path , me provide clear guidelines to others , so they (YOU) can reach your destination of wellness

Social media is LITTERED with fake ‘wellness’ influencer breathlessly pushing whatever is new and trending -but to get to true wellness, you have to learn to separate what makes sense and start to trust yourself and YOUR body.

This is what my page and what I’m about-so scroll down through my memory lane of posts and I hope you stick around , because feeling better , and improving how your body functions is something we all deserve!

Before reaching for products like moisturizers, ‘thickening’ shampoos or wondering if there’s something else besides die and exercise to improve belly fat -consider these supplements I often recommend:
1. Omega 3 supplements (try a prenatal version of a DHA supplements which doesn’t go overboard with omega 3 concentration) can help strengthen the skin barrier , helping prevent moisture loss. Nordic Naturals makes a good one

2. Want thicker hair/struggling with thinning hair? Consider vitamin D supplants -low vitamin D can contribute to har loss.

3. Besides exercise and diet, that stubborn belly fat may be helped with a probiotic. Lactobacillus gasseri 7-10 billion cfu has been shown to help with fat loss in the mid section. Vitamatic or Swanson are brands you can get on Amazon

Hope you’ve found this info helpful!

Happy Easter! Hope everyone is having a blessed and peaceful day 🌺 ✝️

What’s on my nightstand

Here’s a run down of supplements I’ve been taking and why-I’m very careful when it comes to supplement rec , because it’s not about taking everything but the kitchen sink

It’s about being targeted and mindful about what you’re aiming to treat

1. Lactobacillus Gasseri probiotic and clear skin probiotic -This combo for me at least really reduced bloating and flattened my stomach within a week -There is evidence that L Gasseri can help with fat loss specifically in the mid section and certain strains of probiotic can help with eczema-My skin gets so dry in the winter , I’m so far loving this combo of probiotic and tolerating them well

2. Vit D3/K2 supplement -helps bone, immune, vascular health, inflammation

3. nasal spray is a new addition and it works! It’s xylitol based and I bought this for my daughter who gets a stuffy nose/inflammation in her nose at times/specially in the winter -it helps protect against unhealthy bacterial strains and relieve congestion and inflammation naturally -safe for young kids -a better alternative to conventional nasal sprays. As a tip-don’t share, get one for each person in your household because the tip goes in your nose a little

Hope my supplement tips will help get you healthier in the New Year!
