Tanja Fridolfs, MS, LMFT

Tanja Fridolfs, MS, LMFT It is my passion to address the whole person and to support you in living a fulfilling and healthy life. This keeps me striving to be the best at what I do.

We will work through tough questions, difficult emotions, relationship growth, choosing healthier options and learning to care for yourself. Feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or depressed can leave a cloud hanging over your life. It is my desire to help you discover what has contributed to this and work together to overcome these issues. Counseling can have a huge impact on the life of an ind

ividual or couple as well as the lives of those around them. It is a privilege for me to walk with my clients as they work through tough questions, face difficult emotions, grow in relationship, choose healthier options and learn to care for themselves. Integrative counseling, that takes into consideration the whole person, including your mind, body, faith and relationships is what I’ve grown to embrace. Everything in your life is connected. Each time you make a change in one area, it can impact you significantly. All the little changes add up to big changes over time. Feelings, beliefs, relationships, brain function, faith, physical health, thoughts and past experiences all influence every part of you. Each can play a role in how you feel, how you function and what you are experiencing now. We will work together to determine what areas you would like to improve. There could be just one main issue that needs to be addressed, but life is complicated and often there are many areas that we can work on together to bring health and wholeness. Who I am

I am a therapist that values you as an individual and desires to help you reach a place of peace and fulfillment in your life. Often that can be through counseling, however I offer blogs, videos, a page and newsletter to give you resources and help you decide what is best in your situation. I value the whole person and will help you evaluate each area of your life that could be contributing to your suffering. I believe that your mind, body, faith and relationships are keys to living the life you were made for. Although I love helping others thrive, growing in my faith and supporting my own family are my biggest passions. Being a wife and mom are very important roles in my life. I have been married for 17 years and have 2 children. I am involved and serving in my church community as well. MIND
What you think, the beliefs you have and the thoughts that run through your head, have a great impact on how you feel and behave. This is a somewhat automatic process that we often don’t consider. Learning to be aware of our thoughts and beliefs is the first step in healthy change. After becoming aware, we will begin to work on evaluating if they are true and realizing that you have the ability to change your thoughts, behaviors and feelings. The things you put in your body or deprive your body of, can have a huge impact on your mind as well. A vitamin deficiency, too much sugar, not enough protein or too little movement, just to name a few, can all have an impact on your mind. Improving brain waves can also be an important part of treatment. Brain Paint (neurofeedback) is a scientifically proven way to improve the way you feel and function in the world by improving how your brain operates. It can be helpful for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and many other issues. Click here https://neurofeedbackdefined.com/neurotherapy to see a full list and further explanation. I am excited to have this service as an option for my clients. BODY
I believe that the nutrients and foods we eat (or don’t eat) have a great impact on our overall wellbeing, as well as our emotions and ability to think clearly. This value has led me to many hours of study and training to better understand the relationship around food, our digestive system, nutrients we need, our brain function and our emotions. How we care for our bodies with food, exercise and sleep can have a much greater impact than many people realize. If your body doesn’t have what it needs to function correctly, it will be difficult to achieve your goals. We will consider any changes you may want to make and I will support you in these changes. FAITH
As a person of faith, I recognize that there are many faiths and each person is impacted differently by what they believe. I respect each person’s uniqueness and welcome people of all belief systems. Part of learning about each client and how they were shaped into the person they are today, is taking into consideration their personal beliefs. My Christian faith is a driving force behind who I am and the work I do. My faith has taught me to value individuals, the importance of healthy relationships and caring for our bodies. We need to be in relationship with others to thrive. We also need to nourish our bodies and our souls to be at our best. When we are whole and healthy, we are in a better place to live out the purpose God created us for. I believe the Bible has truth that is applicable to all parts of life and relationships. Discussing how the Bible applies to your situation can be part of therapy if you request this. Each person is created with value and purpose. I would love to help you see the value in yourself and work towards embracing your faith and purpose in all areas of your life. RELATIONSHIPS
We all need relationships. We all need to feel heard, cared for and important. We also need to care for ourselves and care for others. Creating healthy relationships requires vulnerability and humility as well as strength and time. This can be a struggle for many. We will work together to grow important relationships in your life, by learning and practicing healthy ways of interacting with others. Should I stay or should I go? Many people feel stuck with these two options. Staying in a tough marriage or filing for divorce are not your only choices. Similarly, cutting off a relationship with a relative or close friend or continuing to let them walk all over you are not your only choices. It is my hope to help you succeed in your goals and to have healthy relationships. I have seen one person make changes that affect the relationship in dramatic ways. I am also aware that one person cannot do everything. At some point, the other person needs to put in the effort to change. There are times where the best choice may be divorce or cutting ties. Often, well-meaning family and friends try to influence you towards what they think is best. Pressure to make a specific choice is not what you need. We will work together to explore your feelings and relationships. We will look at areas you can grow in and work towards making decisions about what direction you want to go. You will have support in whatever decision you make. We will look at all options from all angles. Once you decide what is best for you, we will move forward. If you decide you want to end your relationship, we will work towards doing that in a healthy way. Although leaving may be the option that is needed, it is not without heartbreak and complications. We will sort through these together. If you decide that you want to stay in your marriage or relationship, we will work on you growing as a person. We will look at new ways to understand your partner or family member and how to communicate more effectively. The efforts of just one person can cause a relationship to become healthier. Relationships work best when both people are engaged and growing, but one person can cause significant change. Please check out my website to find out more. www.tanjafridolfs.com

People pleasing can feel rewarding at first. Being the one everyone counts on, keeping the peace, and making others happy can seem like the right thing to do. Over time, constantly trying to meet everyone else’s expectations can leave you exhausted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from yourself.

Learning to say no, set healthy boundaries, and care for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. The healthiest relationships are built on honesty, authenticity, and mutual respect, not guilt or obligation.

You deserve relationships where you are valued for who you are, not just for what you do for others. Growth may feel uncomfortable at first, but choosing yourself can lead to deeper peace and more genuine connection.
