Beverly Jean Daley

Beverly Jean (VanDemark) Daley, 74, of Hurley, NY, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY.

Born on November 13, 1951, in Kingston, NY, Beverly was the daughter of the late Kenneth Hasbrouck VanDemark, Sr. and Ellen Marie (McSpirit) VanDemark. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Arthur Thomas Daley, Jr., whom she wed on August 15, 1976.

Beverly graduated from Kingston High School in 1970, and met her future husband while they were both employed at Northeast News. She subsequently worked for several years at National Micronetics. Bev enjoyed music and regularly attended dances at local venues. Bev also liked the outdoors and was very physically active in her youth. She played volleyball and other sports, and enjoyed activities such as running, hiking, and camping.

Together, Bev and Art raised their children in the house that they built together from the ground up. Their home was very dear to them and they often worked to improve it for their family. They were also avid gardeners who planted fruit trees and maintained vegetable and flower gardens throughout the property. Bev and Art shared a remarkable work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit, accomplishing much together over the years. For more than 35 years, they owned and operated ABC Pool & Spa Service. Bev also owned Chic’s Sports Bar & Restaurant and ran it for over 20 years.

Family was always Beverly’s greatest priority. She was devoted to creating a loving, comfortable, and supportive home, especially for her children. Bev enjoyed cooking for her family and was especially proficient at baking. She was also an excellent host to visitors in her home, particularly to the children in the area. She certainly regarded being a mother as her highest calling in life. Beverly was extremely attentive, caring, and encouraging as a mom, our greatest defender and advocate.

We love you, Mom, more than words can express. Your kindness, strength, guidance, and most of all, your unwavering love were an inspiration to us and will be forever remembered. We are grateful for the sacrifices you made for us and the happiness you brought to our lives.

Beverly is survived by her sons, Shane Michael Daley and Arthur Thomas Daley III; her brothers, Daniel Joseph VanDemark and Kelvin Lee VanDemark; and her grandson, Gunnar Joseph Daley-Gould. She is predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth Hasbrouck VanDemark, Jr. and Duane Robert VanDemark; and her sister, Maureen Gail (VanDemark) Krom.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends are invited to attend the wake on Wednesday, August 12, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass of the Roman Catholic faith will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 13, at St. Joseph’s Church, 242 Wall Street, Kingston, NY. Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 322 Foxhall Avenue, Kingston, NY.

Radomir Beranek

Radomir Beranek passed away at home on August 4, 2026. He was born on November 27, 1939 in Czechoslovakia. Radomir moved to the United States as an adult and became a citizen in 1973. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Prague with an MA degree in History of Cinematography and Film Criticism. Radomir remained interested in film, photography and music, and he had an extensive collection of recorded music. In the early days of computing, he pivoted to programming, and his most recent employment was as a data base administrator and consultant.

Radomir is survived by his loving wife Nancy, son Erik and daughter-in-law Kelsey, as well as by a daughter Sylva, her husband Pavel, two grandsons Filip and Robin and a great grandson Misa in Czechia.

Colleen Robin Tiano

Colleen Robin Tiano, of Kingston, New York, passed away on July 31st after a long battle with autoimmune conditions including myositis. She was known for her unwavering devotion to her family, her quiet generosity, and a lifetime spent helping others.

Born in Kingston, she was the first-born of the late Peter F. and Barbara J. (Stoff) Tiano. She attended St. Catherine Labouré elementary school where she was part of the inaugural class and one of the few students to attend for all 8 years before the school closed in 1972. She then attended Kingston High School where she was part of the color guard and French Honors Society. She also served as scorekeeper for the Town of Ulster Girl’s Junior Softball League. She attended Ulster County Community College with a concentration in secretarial studies.

She served as a keyboard specialist/secretary for the State of New York, first with the Department of Education and then the State Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (Formerly OMRDD) working for over 36 years at various sites in Kingston, Valatie, and finally Albany. She loved her job and took great pride in helping to improve the business processes in her offices, developing procedures that outlasted her tenure. Beyond her professional life, she generously donated her talents as the editor of the church bulletin for St. Catherine Labouré Church, working with Monsignor Fowler and then Father Kearney until the early 2000s. During that time she also served as a CCD teacher. Her faith was expressed not only through prayer, but through service to her parish community.

She was extremely dedicated to her family and friends - spending much of her life caring for those who needed her: be they elderly, ill, or simply facing difficult times. She was always there for anyone whom she could help with whatever means she could muster - be it financial, logistical, or just the willingness to sit and listen and offer counsel. Her generosity was quiet but constant, and countless people benefited from her compassion.

She is survived by her son Peter J Naccarato III; her brother, Peter F (Kim) Tiano Jr.; her significant other, Michael P. W. Hanlon; and her nieces and nephews Nicole M Hernandez [Bauer], Britney Rose (Craig) Privett, and Michael (Mallory) Tiano; her aunt, Joann Baker of Virginia; and her cousins: Martha Jane Lucci, Melissa Baker and Mel Baker.

In addition to her parents and ex-husband (Peter J Naccarato Jr.), Colleen was predeceased by her sisters, Lisa Tiano Eichler (2016), Regina Cohn (2025) and her best friend Ruth Warner (2016).

Colleen will be remembered for all the lives she touched. Though her own path was not always easy, she met life's challenges with tenacity and never lost sight of what mattered most: caring for others. She believed that helping others was simply what one did - and she was there when she was needed.

Klaus Dieter Harms

Klaus Dieter Harms, 79, of Hurley, NY, passed Friday July 31, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer. He was the son of Willi J. Harms and Elizabeth H. (Christ) Harms. He was born in Leeste-bei-Bremen, Germany on February 5, 1947, and came to the US with his family in 1951.

He was a 1964 graduate of Kingston High School and attended the University of Maine, Orono. He was soon hired by IBM where he worked for nearly 3 decades. After trying retirement, he worked for several jobs until finally working at The Revenue Markets Inc. until his illness.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, cross country and downhill skiing. He was an active member of Die Bergvagabunden Schuhplattlers (German folk dance group) where he served as Vorplattler (men's instructor and performance leader). He was involved in cub scouts and boy scouts. His passion later in life was playing soccer in a local men's league until his illness.

He married Sharon L. (Morabito) Harms in August 1981 and remained happily together until her passing in 2021. They were both cat lovers and enjoyed frequent trips to Cape Cod. He is survived by three sons: Michael Barnes of West Salem, IL.; Scott Barnes (Melissa) of Rosendale, NY.; Ryan Harms of Colorado Springs, CO. Seven grandchildren: Erich Barnes, Kayla Barnes, Zoe Barnes, Arianna Barnes, Rhys Barnes, MacKensie Harms, and Reagan Harms. His sisters Annemarie Harms of Kingston and Dagmar Davis of Saugerties. His sister-in-law Gale Hughes ("uncle" Jimmy) and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces.

Dieter will be reposing at Keyser funeral home 326 Albany Ave. on Wednesday August 5,2026 from 4-7pm. A service will be held at 10 am Thursday August 6,2026 at the funeral home.

Dorothy G. Barzin

Dorothy Gerbarg Barzin of Kingston, NY, passed away at the age of 100 on Thursday July 30, 2026. She was married to Dr. David S. Gerbarg for 38 years until his death in 1984. Subsequently, she was married for 34 years to Richard Barzin until he died three years ago. In addition, Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Rose (Levy) Rose and her sister, Helen Weinert.

Dorothy was born on May 15, 1926, in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from Olney High School, she won a coveted Mayor’s scholarship which enabled her to obtain a bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1924, the Alef Zadik Alef (AZA) fraternity was formed for Jewish youth who were banned from joining other fraternities. During WWII, AZA sponsored vital community charitable events that raised morale. In 1943, Dorothy was crowned “The Sweetheart of AZA,” a high honor recognizing her grace, leadership, warmth, and beauty.

Dorothy married David Gerbarg while he was in medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, starting their family while he served in the Army, the Navy and later the Reserves. They were drawn to the Hudson valley by its beautiful fall foliage, settled in Germantown, later moved into a Dutch Colonial farmhouse on Hurley Mountain Road, and eventually built a home and office in Kingston, NY.

Known for devotion to family, Dorothy’s hospitality, kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and culinary skills were appreciated by all. She enjoyed reading, gardening, swimming, art, music, cribbage and golf. Over the years, her leadership skills were recognized in her communities where she was elected Chair of the Germantown Farm Bureau, President of the local League of Women Voters, President of Kingston Planned Parenthood, and President of the Ulster County Mental Health Association. She served as President of the Sisterhood and on the Education Committee of Congregation (Temple) Emanuel. She also volunteered teaching English as a Second Language at Marco Island Library in Florida.

Dorothy and her husband, David, are survived by their four children, Darcy Gerbarg, Dr. Patricia Gerbarg, Dr. Zachary Gerbarg, and Aimee Ronn. They are also survived by seven grandchildren: Laura, Joshua, and David Braslow; David and Daniel Gerbarg; and David and Rebecca Ronn. In addition, they are survived by eight great-grandchildren: Brianne, Nova, and Marcello Braslow; Milo and Luca Braslow; and Dillon, Hannah, and Cameron Gerbarg. From her second husband, Richard Barzin, she is survived by her stepdaughter, Emily Barzin, step-grandchildren, Leon and Haley Kellerhouse, and step great-grandchild, Isaiah Urquidez.

Throughout her century of life, Dorothy embodied the AZA "Sweetheart" spirit—bringing joy, elegance, humor, and love to her family and everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched.

Gerhard George Richter

Our dear father, Gerard Richter, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, in the house that he lovingly built for his family, at the age of 85. Gerard was a dedicated man whose first priority was always his family. He was married to his one true love, Judy, for almost 59 years. He is survived by his son, Tim, daughter-in-law Bonnie, and their sons, Joey and Ryan. He is also survived by his daughter, Katherine, her partner Bob, and her children, Toby and Katie. He will also be missed by several nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

He knew that he wanted to be a carpenter at an early age and spent his career running his own contracting business. His woodworking talents resulted in beautiful kitchens, renovations, clever solutions to everyday problems, and the detailed woodwork in his passion project - his Econoline Van that he brought to car shows. He and his van brought joy to so many people; children especially loved climbing in and sitting on the bed. He won numerous awards for his unique and handmade vehicle.

Gerard was also an avid stock car racing fan. He worked in the pit with the Ricci Racing team for years, and could often be found in his barn working on a car or an engine of some sort, including his WWII jeeps. He was a longtime Ford man and counted his pickup trucks as one of the many blessings in his life. He also served his community as a member of the St. Remy Fire Department.

In November of 2002, Judy suffered a brain aneurysm. Gerard took care of her at home for 12 years, an enormous act of love that made her life that much richer for so long. She was able to be comfortable at home and have visits with her kids and grandkids. After she entered a nursing home in 2015, he steadfastly went to visit her every day that he could.

While we are sad to not have Gerard in our lives anymore, we are also grateful that he is free now to be with his beloved Judy for eternity. There never was a truer love than the love they had for each other. It wasn't easy - they both had their moments - and the road was far from smooth. But Gerard's devotion to Judy, especially in their last 20 years together, is humbling. May we all hope to live up to his selfless actions.

A memorial service for Judy and Gerard will be held at Wiltwyck Cemetery in Kingston, NY on Friday, August 28th at 1pm, with a reception to follow. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Habitat for Humanity.

Alberta Virginia C***a

Alberta V. C***a, 94, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Wednesday July 29, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 6, 1931, in Kingston, daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Schieblich) Petersen. She was married to the late, Ernest J. C***a, Sr., they were married on February 10, 1952, at St. Mary's RC Church in Kingston. Ernest passed away on March 21, 2007.

Alberta was a graduate of Kingston High School and later worked at Hercules (now Dyno Nobel), Adams Fairacre Farms, and Walmart.

She was an active member of Fair Street Reformed Church and The Sawkill Senior Club for many years. In addition, Alberta was a well known for playing the accordion in the “Sano Sounds Band” and she enjoyed playing bingo and participating in local bowling leagues.

Alberta is survived by her children, Ernest C***a, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Kingston, James and Sondra C***a of Kingston, Cindy Hoffmann and her husband John of Kingston, and Angela Quick and her husband Scott of PA, her daughter in law, Cynthia C***a of Kingston, her grandchildren, Floyd Rose, Ryan C***a, Jared C***a, Shannon Critelli and her husband Joseph, Heather C***a, Michele Naccarato and her husband Christopher, James C***a, Jr., Lia C***a, Amanda Landerway, Kari Gilbert, and Kevin Quick, Jr. and his wife Alexi, her great grandchildren, Anthony, Juliana, Christopher, Seraphine, Gabriel, Genevieve, Addisyn, Skylar, Harley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Alberta is predeceased by her son, Carmine C***a, and her siblings, Richard Petersen, Marie Thomas, Dorothy Crantz, Elizabeth Smith, Robert Petersen, and Herbert Petersen, Raymond Petersen, Larry Petersen, Ernest Petersen, and Martin Petersen.

Anthony Fred Martino

Anthony Fred Martino “Tony”, age 76, of Kingston, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on June 26, 2026 after a brief illness. Son of the late Fidele and Carmela “Millie” Martino, Anthony was born on June 7, 1950. A lifelong resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley, he spent countless hours volunteering at community events and assisting many friends, family members, and acquaintances in need.

After graduating from Kingston High School Class of 1968, Anthony subsequently attended Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, NY, and received a Bachelor’s Degree from The State University of New York at Potsdam in 1972.

From 1970 to 2008, Anthony was employed at Rondout Manufacturing Corp. in High Falls, NY, having provided almost four decades of service to the company while fostering and maintaining hundreds of business contacts throughout the years.

On August 5, 1972, Anthony wedded wife Gerit Martino (Bracklow) of Accord, NY at a quaint ceremony in Stony Hollow, (Ulster County) NY. In 2025, the couple celebrated their 53rd year of matrimony.

His greatest joys were preparing exquisite holiday meals for friends and family, barbecuing at summer gatherings, as well as cooking at the Cantine Field Concession Stand in Saugerties for many sports events including Babe Ruth Baseball.

A lover of automobiles and any topic automobile related, Anthony reveled in buying and selling vintage vehicles and parts, attending antique and classic car shows, and meeting and greeting automobile enthusiasts at events and gatherings. For years, he could be seen proudly driving his 1931 Ford Model A hotrod (nicknamed “Rusty”) at many local classic car venues, and was a member of car club “The Igniters”.

He also enjoyed taking walks around his neighborhood with German Shepherd “Einstein” and Doberman Pinscher “Chloe”, and was an avid fan of the “film noir” movie cinema style.

Anthony is survived by wife Gerit Martino (Bracklow), sons Anthony B. Martino and Garrick E. Martino, and is predeceased by son Theodor “Teddy” G. Martino, (all of Kingston, NY). He is also survived by brother Joseph Martino, nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by sister Janice Martino (Rossi) of Baltimore, Maryland.

Helen Edge

Helen Edge, 93, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 12, 1933, in Wallkill, NY, the daughter of the late Samuel and Daisy (Bell) Rose.

She was married to her loving husband of 61 years, Robert A. Edge. Robert passed away on December 5, 2024.

Helen enjoyed every waking hour with the “love of her life” her husband Bob.

She loved attending family events, children’s sporting events, picnics, and family vacations, as well as any opportunity to be with her loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Helen loved spending time at the pool or beach, as an avid sunworshipper. She loved her dogs, and raised several Irish Setters, and her West Highland Terriers. Most recently her devoted “shadow” Molly. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was affectionately called “Mema” or “Gigi” by the youngest children.

During her earlier years Helen worked at Britt’s Department Store for many years, and then at Ulster Community College. She also served with the Ulster County Elections as a voting inspector for many years in Kingston. Helen was a member of the Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY. Most of all, Helen loved spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were everything to her.

Helen is survived by her children, Susan Hollenzer and her husband Phil of Florida, Richard Robbins and his wife Irene of Wawarsing, Robert Edge Jr. and his wife Lori of Port Ewen, Barbara Hertle and her husband John of Kingston, her son in law, Steve Ferraro of Florida, her grandchildren, Dana Hollenzer, Julie Palleschi, Kimberly Berendt, Michele Ortiz, Samantha Robbins, Brittany Brocco, and John Hertle, IV, and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jeanne Patterson, several nieces and nephews, and William Smith who was like a son to Helen, as well as her beloved West Highland Terrier, Molly.

In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Ferraro, and her sister-in-law, Bernice Pritchard. Helen was also predeceased by her husband Charles R. Robbins.

Helen was predeceased by her siblings, six brothers, James, Ralph, Floyd, Richard, Samuel, and Robert Rose, as well as three sisters Sarah Geiselhart, Stella Nelson, and Ruth Eck.
