William M. York

William M. York, 78, of Woodstock, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at home. He was born on December 4, 1947, in Kingston, NY, son of the late Myron and Isabell “Walker” York.

He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1966, and later served his country in the US Army Engineers. Bill worked for Verizon for many years before his retirement. He was an honorary member of the St. Remy Fire Department, he was an avid fisherman, and he also enjoyed hunting and golf.

Bill is survived by his brother, John York and his wife Karen of Montville, ME, his niece, Sharon York and her partner Thomas Gately of Hallstead, PA, his nephew, Michael York (Kelly Oldham) of Ulster Park, NY, his niece, Rebecca Kirby of Montville, ME, his nephew, Matthew York of Montville, ME, his great niece Jordyn Mudge, his great nephew, Nicholas York, his cousin, Joan Weiss, as well as his second cousins, Sue Whitefield and William Weiss.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service will take place at 11am on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at St. Remy Rural Cemetery, St. Remy, NY. Bernadette M. Blankschen Scanlon

Bernadette Blankschen Scanlon Bradley passed away on June 3rd, 2026, in Palm Coast Florida. Previously she lived in Colonial Hills in Kingston, New York. She was a resident of Kingston since 1969. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church on Delaware Ave., where she served in various capacities.

For 32 years she taught in Elementary schools in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. She taught the last 23 years in Kingston, New York. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She was an active member of the Catholic Widows/Widower group.

Mrs. Scanlon was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 20, 1936. Her parents, Louis and Veronica Szczepkowski died previously.

She married Fred Blankschen in 1972. He was born on June 3rd, 1924. He died in 2001. Her second husband, Robert Scanlon died 6 months after their wedding on October 9, 2008. She married Thomas Bradley in 2011 and moved to Florida. Her sisters, Helen Schneible, Angela Clark, Irene Van Newkirk, Christina Plante and Genevieve Lozeau died previously.

Bernadette had many friends, because she was such a wonderful friend herself. She loved the company of others, and always tried to make others feel welcomed. She was a great listener. She was grateful for everything she had: her health, her friends, her life. She saw the best in everyone.

Susan L. Dugan, 79, of Catskill, NY, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at home. She was born on August 24, 1946, in Manhattan, NY, daughter of the late James and Toni (Beckman) Richards. She was married to her loving husband, Michael Dugan, they married on November 20, 1988. Susan attended Kings Fire Church, loved feeding birds and squirrels, and was an avid reader and writer. After her retirement she enjoyed being substitute teacher for the Catskill School District. Above all she loved traveling to her grandchildren's sporting events.

Susan is survived by her husband, Michael Dugan of Catskill, her children, Regina Tibbs of Kingston, Alvita Tibbs and her husband Tim of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Dugan and his wife Mona of Kingston, Jaime Tibbs of Kingston, and Brian Dugan of Catskill, her grandchildren, Jeremy Tibbs of Kingston, Dionte Myers of Charlotte, NC, Nadia Gibbs of Kingston, Kiara Dugan of Catskill, Annaliece Smith of Charlotte, NC, Amari Simon of Mt. Marion, Bryson Dugan of Catskill, Sabrina, Sebastian, Christopher, Cheyenne, Chase, Cassandra, Paige, her siblings, Celie, Jimmy, and David, as well as a host of great grandchildren and other dear family members. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Kenneth, Debbie, Donna, and Grace.

Shirley Gurkovic, 89, of Allendale, NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Allendale Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Allendale, NJ. She was born on July 28, 1936, in Kingston, NY, daughter of the late Edward and Julia (Golgoski) Terwilliger.

Shirley graduated from Syracuse University with a nursing degree in 1957. Worked and taught at Columbia University in her early career. She settled in Havre de Grace, MD to raise a family, where she was a nurse at the Perry Point VA Hospital in Perry Point, MD. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, astrology, teaching, reading, gardening and sewing. She was a member of the 200 club.

Renee Lee Carlson, age 54, of Lomontville, New York, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026.

Renee was born on April 22, 1972, in Kingston, New York, to Kenneth and Arlene Carlson. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and caring nature touched the lives of many and will be remembered always.

Renee enjoyed shopping, camping, and watching classic television shows. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Above all else, Renee’s greatest love was her family. She devoted her life to caring for and supporting those she held dear, and her love will continue to live on in their hearts.

Renee is survived by her loving mother, Arlene Carlson; her children, Hunter Bender and Justin Bender; her brother, Kenneth Carlson Jr., and his wife, Amanda Carlson; and her cherished niece and nephew, Lindzy and Keith Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Carlson Sr.; her beloved son, Christopher Byron; and her husband, David Dubois. While her loss is deeply felt, her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly.

Renee’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Mary A. Mills, aged 88, of Kingston, NY, passed peacefully at Health Alliance Hospital on June 1st, 2026. Mary was born December 31, 1937 in Fishkill, NY.

She was an avid Yankees fan, loved wrestling, old westerns and gardening.

Mary was an at home daycare provider for over 40 years.

Mary is survived by her daughters Elizabeth A. Cullen, Michelle Cullen, Sarah E. All, Carlotta M. Winchell and Jennifer D. Mills. Her grandchildren Kimberley Williams, Angelica All, Leighton R. Winchell, Dakota All, Stephanie Boughton, Daniella L. Gray, Samantha All, Cory All, John R. Miller, Jr., and Caylee L. Miller. Her greatgrandchildren Andrew Williams, Adalynn Williams, Christopher Williams, Travis Williams, John Justin Miller, Tristian Boughton and Ashton Winchell.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Janet Sue Hillock

Janet Sue Hillock of Urbandale, IA, formerly of Woodstock, NY, died on April 1, 2026 at her residence at Immanuel at Deerfield after a prolonged illness. She was 83.

Born July 21, 1942 in Salem, Missouri, Jan was the middle of three children. She graduated from Ridge Farm High School in Ridge Farm, IL in 1960, and married husband Tom in August 1965. Tom was drafted into the Air Force in 1968 and served in Okinawa, where they welcomed their first daughter, Kim. Upon their return stateside in 1972, the family moved to the Hudson Valley, where they welcomed a second daughter, Amie.

Jan was a homemaker while her girls were younger, but also made time to volunteer for Woodstock Meals on Wheels, be a room mother for both daughters’ classrooms, lead their Girl Scout troop, and devote much leadership and talent to Overlook United Methodist Church in Woodstock. She worked for Thomas Doerr and Associates and then Matthew C. Hall and Co. as office manager for over 30 years. Retiring in 2015, she moved back to the Midwest in 2016 to be closer to her extended family, whom she loved immensely. She was known for her baked goods, especially pies and cakes. She always had to have her earrings on! She loved gardening and was a master at tending roses, African violets, and orchids. She loved music and sang with her church choirs both at Overlook and at Deerfield. Her laughter was musical and contagious, and she laughed with her whole heart. Most importantly, she loved being a grandma, and treasured her grandchild Alison to no end.

Preceding her in death are her parents Robert and Kathleen Hall, brother Gerald Hall, husband Tom Hillock, and son-in-law Dan Giordano. Surviving are daughters Kim Giordano and Amie Goulbourne, son-in-law Michael Goulbourne, grandchild Alison Giordano, brother and sister-in-law Bob and Teresa Hall, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jan will be laid to rest with a short interment service at Woodstock Cemetery on June 30, 2026,11:30 AM with reception following at Overlook United Methodist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston, NY.

Ingrid “chi chi” Righetti (née Harrison), 85, passed away peacefully leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and music. Born on June 23, 1940, in Port Washington, New York, she spent her life enjoying family and music, most notably as an avid fan of Elvis Presley. Her enthusiasm for life and her deep affection for her family will be missed by all who knew her. Ingrid was the beloved wife of Dionisus Righetti. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Ingrid Tierney; her father, William H. Harrison VI; and her brother, William H. Harrison VII. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving loved ones, including Shirley and Bruce Paley, Pamela and William Grue, Wayne Harrison, Ellen Cordaro, and Christine Cordaro, as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401.

William “Bill” H. Timer, 74, of Port Ewen, NY, passed away on May 12, 2026, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was born on May 21, 1951, in Oneonta, NY, son of the late William and Laura (Shaver) Timer.

Bill was a graduate of Laurens Central School District and attended SUNY Delhi. Later, Bill worked as Store Manager at Barkers Department Stores then, for many years, was the Store Manager of Ames Department Store in New Paltz and Kingston, NY. Prior to his retirement, he was a financial planner for NY Life. He was married to Janet (Hungerford) Timer on May 2, 1987.

Bill loved his muscle cars as well as home woodworking and renovations. He loved cooking and was a master at the grill with his secret recipes. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing on Seneca Lake where he entertained family and neighbors with his annual 4th of July pyrotechnical spectaculars and comical monologues.

Bill is survived by his wife, Janet Timer of Port Ewen, his son Will Timer of Port Ewen, his brother David Timer of Woodstock, VA, his sister, Emily Rowe and her husband, Al, of Mission Viejo, CA, his cousin Ray (Missy) Timer, and many other cousins. Bill is also survived by his brothers-in-law Daniel (Maggie) Hungerford of Endicott, NY and Frederick Hungerford of Rochester, NY as well as sisters-in-law Ellen (Scott) Wood of Himrod, NY, Kelly Woodford of Savage, MN, Annette Hungerford of Dundee, NY, Brenda (Daniel) Cullen of Binghamton, NY and Amy (Lester) Miller of Rock Stream, NY along with many loving nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents, mother and father-in law (Jane and Fred Hungerford), sisters-in-law Karen Timer, Cay Ziarno, Darlene Hungerford, and brother-in-law Jack Hungerford.

JoAnn P. West, 67, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at home. She was born on January 8, 1959, in Kingston, NY, daughter of the late William Whitaker, Sr. and Alice (Tubby) Whitaker.

JoAnn was raised in Connelly, NY and was a long-time resident of Kingston. She worked at The Arc Mid-Hudson for over 17 years. In her spare time, JoAnn enjoyed helping others and volunteered at People’s Place in Kingston, NY. She also enjoyed crafting, knitting, and crocheting. She was known to carry small craft projects with her everywhere and always nurtured the creativity of those around her.

JoAnn faced many challenges in her life and was known as a strong and persevering woman. She always welcomed those who needed help into her home and her heart. She had a generous and outgoing nature.

JoAnn is survived by her children, James West, Nathan West, Jenna Medenbach and her husband Matthew, Nicholas Carpino and his partner Ashley, and Jolene Carpino, her grandchildren, Stephanie Nelson, Jayden Carpino, Adrianna Carpino, Romeo Saint Pierre, Adelaide Medenbach, and Felix Medenbach, her siblings, Jean Murray, James Whitaker, Lisa Whitaker, and Della Peters, as well as her step children, great grandchildren, and other dear family members.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was predeceased by her siblings, William Whitaker, Jr., Peggy Dennis, and Esther McCaughin.
