Happy 4th of July from all of us at Kinston Head & Neck Physicians & Surgeons! ❤️🤍💙

As we celebrate Independence Day, we are also honored to recognize the 250th anniversary of the United States of America — a milestone that reminds us of the history, freedom, and resilience that make our country so special.

We wish all of our patients, families, and community a safe, happy, and patriotic holiday weekend filled with celebration and time with loved ones.

Please note: Our office will close today at 3:00 PM and will reopen Monday morning at 8:15 AM.

🌟 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY! 🌟

This week we're excited to introduce one of the smiling faces who helps keep everything running behind the scenes—Emily, our Assistant Office Manager & Surgery Coordinator (and self-proclaimed fixer of ALL things! 😊)

💙 Years at Kinston Head & Neck: 6

Emily wears many hats in our office, coordinating surgeries, assisting with daily operations, and making sure both patients and staff have the support they need every step of the way.

❤️ What she loves most about her job:
"My coworkers, hands down! Whether it's making TikTok videos, going to the movies, or simply sharing a few laughs on a tough day, they always know how to rally around one another and get the job done. We truly are a family. I also love the fact that I get to work with my mom, Tammie, every day! She is the brightest light!"

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 About Emily:
She has been married to her wonderful husband for almost 11 years, and together they have four amazing children, ranging in age from 20 to 2 years old. Their family also includes their dog, Waylen!

📚 Fun Fact:
Emily is a proud history nerd and loves learning about the past.

🎥 Favorite hobbies:
When she's not at work, you'll usually find her reading a good book, watching murder documentaries, or spending Saturdays by the pool with her family and her mom.

🍗 Favorite food: Zaxby's
🍫 Go-to workday snack: Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme Pretzels with a Diet Dr Pepper!

🙏 What motivates her every day?
"My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."

"As a Kinston native, it's incredibly rewarding to serve the community that raised me. Caring for my neighbors and helping our office provide compassionate, high-quality care is something I take great pride in every day."

This week, we're excited to introduce the heart of Kinston Head & Neck Physicians and Surgeons — our Owner, Physician, and Surgeon!

👩‍⚕️ Dr. Barbara Goheen has been serving Eastern North Carolina since joining Kinston Head & Neck in 2002 and has over 25 years of experience caring for patients.

❤️ What does she love most about her job?
"My team! They are the best and keep KHN running every day. They keep me laughing through the hard days and never let me go without chocolate!"

👨‍👩‍👦 Family Life:
Dr. Goheen and her husband are proud parents of three boys. Their household is always busy with 5 fish, 2 kittens, and even a quail!

🎨 Fun Fact:
Most people don't know that she has a degree in oil painting and enjoys painting whenever she can find time outside of work.

🌟 Meet The Team Monday: Celebrating 49 Years of Dedication! 🌟

This week, we're honored to shine the spotlight on one of the incredible faces behind Kinston Head & Neck Physicians & Surgeons, Tammie!

💙 For an amazing 49 years, she has been a valued part of our practice. After 47 years as a Certified Medical Assistant, she now serves as the welcoming face at our Allergy Clinic Front Desk, where she continues to make a difference in our patients' lives every day.

What does she enjoy most about her job? Working with patients! Building relationships and helping people feel better in the community she has called home her entire life is what makes her work so rewarding.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family means everything to her. She has been married to her husband for 32 years, and together they have 2 wonderful daughters, 2 handsome sons, and 9 grandchildren who complete her world. She also shares her home with Charlotte, her beloved Labradoodle!

🎶 Fun fact: When she was younger, she was part of a clogging group that performed at local events!

🏕️ Outside of work, she enjoys antiquing and camping.
🍽️ Favorite local restaurant: Plaza Del Mariachi in Kinston.
🥜 Go-to workday snack: Peanut butter and peach iced tea.

When asked what makes Kinston Head & Neck special, her answer was simple: the relationships she has built with her coworkers over the years and the family atmosphere that keeps everyone laughing.

Her daily motivation comes from her faith in God, and she hopes every patient who walks through our doors feels comfortable, cared for, and knows that they come first.

This week, we’re spotlighting Brittany McCall! 👏
Meet our Office Manager at Kinston Head & Neck! For the past 4 years, she has helped keep the office running smoothly while supporting both our providers and patients every day. She loves getting to know and helping the people in our community and believes in providing compassionate, community-centered care where every patient feels safe, heard, and valued. Outside of work, she stays busy with her 3 daughters, 2 dogs, and a cat, while also enjoying pool days, tanning, and chasing after her little ones. Fun fact: her favorite show is Bluey! She loves authentic Italian food, survives busy days with caffeine and pita chips, and says one of the best parts of working here is how our team always keeps each other laughing. Most of all, she values the close-knit family atmosphere that makes Kinston Head & Neck so special. 💙

✨ MEET THE TEAM MONDAY ✨

Meet Emilee, one of our amazing medical assistants at Kinston Head & Neck! For the past 6 years, she has helped keep the clinic running smoothly while supporting both our doctors and patients every day. She loves building relationships with coworkers and patients and takes pride in providing quality care close to home for Eastern North Carolina. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially with her 9-year-old daughter, her cat Trix, and goldfish Swim Shady! Fun fact: Trix weighs 20 pounds! Her favorite workday snack is chocolate from her bestie, and she says she’s “never been sad inside a Mexican restaurant.” What motivates her most is knowing that each day is a chance to be better than the day before. She hopes every patient who visits our office feels comfortable, cared for, and right at home. 💙
