It’s easy to spend so much mental energy trying to control things that were never ours to control.

Other people’s choices. Their opinions. Their reactions. How quickly situations resolve.

But your energy is valuable.

Try bringing your focus back to what is within your control: your response, your boundaries, your choices, your self-talk, and when you choose to ask for support.

What’s one thing you can let go of trying to control this week?

You don’t need to reinvent yourself this fall.

A reset can be as simple as:
• Creating a routine that feels supportive
• Setting one healthy boundary
• Making more time for rest
• Letting go of something that no longer serves you
• Asking for support when you need it

Small, intentional changes can make a meaningful difference.
This season, choose progress over perfection.

What’s one small thing you’d like to reset this month?

In couples therapy the word “frustrated” along with its cousins “annoyed,” “irritated,” and “agitated” are all feeling words and are encouraged to be excluded from the emotional dictionary.

Negative emotions indicate that we have an emotional need in a moment, and expressing those emotions tells a very different story than just simply saying “I’m frustrated.”

Secure relationships aren’t built on vague emotional language. They’re built on when we learn to recognize what we’re truly feeling and have the courage to express the need beneath that feeling.

The next time you’re tempted to say “I’m frustrated,” pause for a moment and ask yourself:

“What’s the vulnerable emotion underneath?”

And then ask:

“What’s the emotional need to resolve it?”

Those two questions can completely change the conversation. Instead of inviting conflict, they invite connection.
