During National CNA Week 2026 (June 11–17), Hospice of Northeast Missouri celebrates our unbelievable Hospice Aides, Belinda Stivers, Adji Ba, and Hatti Jochimsen!

The theme for National CNA Week 2026 is “We’re Unbelievable!” This theme was established by the National Association of Health Care Assistants (NAHCA) to recognize the incredible compassion, care, and everyday heroism CNAs bring to patients and elders.

Q: Do I have to be a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) to be on hospice?

A: No. Patients do not have to be a DNR to receive hospice. Life saving measures, such as CPR, are not considered treatment for a terminal illness and may be performed if it is the wish of the patient. We do encourage patients to discuss this further with their hospice team.

This Memorial Day, we take a moment to salute and express our gratitude to all those who have courageously served our country.

Hospice of Northeast Missouri is honored and humbled to participate in an innovative program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, created in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs, titled We Honor Veterans. The goal of this pioneering program is simple – to care for and honor those who have served when they reach the end of life.

A special thank you to the women of Cardinal Key National Honor Society at Truman State University for the hand crafted thank you cards for our nursing team.

Cardinal Key is a national honor society and service organization composed of women dedicated to leadership, service, and the virtues of faith, trust, fortitude, and wisdom. Their kindness and encouragement truly brightened our week.
