➡️ parentheses, exponents, multiply, divide, add, subtract

You had to do what was in the parentheses FIRST before moving on to the next step.

Dr. Logan shared that a lot of times, the body works the same way. Movement patterns, nervous system regulation, breathing mechanics, stability… those are often the “parentheses” that need to be addressed FIRST before jumping straight into heavy strength training.

Once the nervous system feels safe and the body is moving better, strength training tends to work a LOT better too.

But if you skip ahead too quickly and go straight to loading and strengthening, the body will often just compensate harder instead of actually improving.

In reality, good treatment is usually a combination of things.

Sometimes it’s hands-on work.
Sometimes it’s improving stability and strength.
And sometimes it’s helping calm down an irritated nervous system.

The goal isn’t just temporary relief.
