June is Men’s Health Month, and while conversations often focus on strength, weight loss, or fitness goals, one of the most overlooked aspects of men’s health is mobility.

Many men push through aches, stiffness, and limited movement, accepting them as a normal part of aging, work, sports, or life. The reality? Reduced mobility can affect everything from athletic performance and lifting capacity to sleep quality, injury risk, and even your ability to keep up with your kids and grandkids.

You don’t have to wait until you’re injured to take action. Call Elevate today! We will get you moving and keep you moving.

June is Men’s Health Month and this is a reminder that taking care of your body isn’t just about recovering from injuries, it’s about preventing them.

Too many men wait until pain, stiffness, or an injury slows them down before seeking help. Physical therapy can help identify movement limitations, strength deficits, and mobility issues before they become bigger problems.

Whether you’re chasing PRs in the gym, biking, golfing, staying active outdoors, competing in sports, or simply wanting to keep up with your family, preventative physical therapy can help keep you moving, performing, and living at your best.

This Men’s Health Month, make your health a priority.

Here are 4 simple dynamic stretches that are great for warming up before summer activities like hiking, running, pickleball, softball, yard work, or a day at the lake:

1. Walking Knee Hugs

* Walk forward while pulling one knee toward your chest.
* Alternate legs with each step.
* Helps loosen the hips and activate the glutes.
* 10 steps per leg

2. Leg Swings

* Hold onto a wall, fence, or chair for balance.
* Swing one leg forward and backward in a controlled motion.
* Repeat side-to-side.
* Improves hip mobility and warms up the lower body.
* 10-15 swings each direction per leg

3. Arm Circles

* Extend your arms out to the sides.
* Make small circles, gradually increasing to larger circles.
* Reverse directions.
* Prepares the shoulders for throwing, swimming, paddling, and other upper-body activities.
* 20 seconds each direction

4. Walking Lunges with a Reach

* Step into a lunge and reach both arms overhead.
* Alternate legs as you move forward.
* Opens the hips, activates the legs, and stretches the core.
* 8-10 lunges per leg

Pro Tip: Spend just 3-5 minutes performing these movements before activity to increase blood flow, improve mobility, and reduce the risk of injury. A good warm-up helps your body perform better and recover more efficiently afterward. 💪☀️
