Postpartum: The transition into new parenthood can be vulnerable. I would be offering emotional support, active listening and encouraging new parents to follow their own hearts. Empathy, a hug or even a good laugh together can do so much for a new parent! With my Physical Therapy connections, I would have individualized plans for your recovery, including core strengthening, hip and spine flexibility, and hands on manual techniques that stimulate healing. Offering soothing techniques for the new baby, baby wearing techniques, explaining normal newborn behaviors. Offering lactation support and using my education to help all things that go with the breastfeeding journey. Also, offering help with bottle feeding, whatever works best for your family. Helping a new family settle in, caring for other siblings, helping take care of the new babe so the new parents can have some quality time, helping with dishes, laundry, preparing nutritious meals for the family. All to help the days go more smoothly. It has been proven in multiple studies that postpartum doulas help to reduce postpartum mood disorders. These appointments we would set a plan for how many you are wanting ahead of time and if more are needed we would asses that at the time. ❤️ This is really where my specialty is. I know how hard postpartum can be and am so passionate about changing that for new parents in our community.
