Having national resources with over 40,000 employees, we are able to accomplish our mission of providing care to the world at a moments notice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in more areas than any other private ambulance service. Our Employees not only provide service to their communities and local events but also nationwide at events for NASCAR, NASA and during times of disaster. Here’s an update from yesterday as we follow our teams during hurricane prep and on into the storm:

AMR paramedics and EMTs from East Tennessee are in the Fort Walton Beach area, supporting evacuation operations and providing emergency medical care in the wake of Hurricane Isaias.

Paramedic Mike Bobich, from AMR’s McMinn County, Tennessee, operation, is among the East Tennessee crew serving in Florida. We’re grateful to Mike and the entire team for answering the call and supporting the communities affected by the storm. In this video, Mike gives us an update about their work in Florida ahead of the hurricane.

As part of the GMR family, when we are called upon for disaster deployments, we bring the healthcare expertise, equipment and speed needed to respond to emergency situations. GMR, in coordination with the Florida Ambulance Association, is currently mobilizing resources to assist healthcare partners in Florida with preparedness measures ahead of Tropical Storm Isaias, including support for patient movement operations designed to maintain continuity of care and keep patients safe as conditions evolve. We currently have teams from our AMR Knox County, Blount County, and McMinn County operations deployed in Florida working on these storm prep duties. Thank you, team members, for your willingness to use your skills and education to support not just your own communities but communities in need, whenever we're called!

Congratulations to Byron Banks, Paramedic, and Amber Ereth, AEMT, both from our AMR Knox County operation, for receiving an Excellence in Trauma award from the University of Tennessee Medical Center! The hospital wanted to recognize them for their recent outstanding patient care and lifesaving interventions! What an honor! Thank you, Byron and Amber, for bringing such great care to this community. We are very proud of you!

We love hearing how our teams are serving our local community and other areas in need. Two of our own AMR Knox County Paramedics recently responded to a call for assistance from another Tennessee operation several hours away and during a holiday. Kevin Loosemore and Thomas Faust responded quickly and received great appreciation and high praises of their performance, willingness to serve, and the camaraderie they rapidly established with this operation. As a result, they have been recognized with GMR service excellence awards. Congratulations, Kevin and Thomas! You make us very proud and thankful for your dedication!

The 2026 Secret City EMS Expo, hosted by Y-12 Fire Department and Anderson County EMS, was held last week. This Expo brings first responders, clinicians, and industry leaders together to advance emergency medical services in our area.

One of our very own, AMR Knox County Field Training Officer Program Supervisors Wesley Brookshear, delivered a powerful session that looked into the heart of AMR Knox County's mission. He highlighted our team's daily efforts of compassionate care and vital medical resources that are available directly to Knoxville's unhoused population. This program brings much-needed emergency care to people exactly where they are. Our team builds trust, delivers dignity, and offers relief with this mobile healthcare resource that is about far more than just a transport.

Incredible work, Wesley, and the entire AMR Knox County team, for setting the standard for compassionate, community-focused EMS!
