Experts are moving toward a new name for PCOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS).

Why the update?
The term “PCOS” has caused confusion for years. Many patients with PCOS don’t actually have ovarian cysts, and the condition affects far more than the ovaries. The new name, PMOS, highlights what the condition truly involves:
Hormone imbalance
Metabolic changes
Ovulation challenges
Whole‑body symptoms like acne, hair changes, irregular cycles, and fatigue

If you’ve been experiencing symptoms that don’t feel “normal” for your body, our team is here to help you get answers and create a care plan that fits your needs.
