Meet Chef Abby, our Dining Services Director!
Abby’s love for cooking started when she was just 2 years old, standing alongside her Great-Grandma Bobbie as she made her famous scratch-made biscuits and chocolate chip cookies.
That love of cooking followed Abby into her late teens, when she began working with at-risk youth in foster care and teaching them basic cooking skills, recipes, and the joy that can come from creating something with your own hands.
A certain famous chef once said, “Anyone can cook.” And Abby truly believes food is universal. Food brings us together. We use it to celebrate, to gather, to make memories, and to honor the people who lovingly passed their recipes down to us.
Today, Abby makes it a priority to regularly sit down with our residents, listen to their feedback, and learn about the foods and recipes they love. And honestly? Most of the time, the feedback is simply, “It’s great—don’t change a thing!” ❤️
Beyond the dining room, Abby also pours her heart into community events, using food as a way to bring residents, families, staff, and the community together.
Whether she’s serving meatloaf, baked chicken, lasagna, or one of her many other favorites, Abby has one promise: she’ll always put a little love into every dish.
Because that’s the love her Great-Grandma Bobbie passed down to her—and it’s a love she hopes to pass along through every meal. ❤️🍪👩🍳
