I received a tough diagnosis this week: bilateral Avascular Necrosis in my hips. It’s essentially taken me out of my fall marathon, and potentially out of long distance running for good.
This is a major setback, and I’m still learning what this diagnosis means long term, but I’m choosing to see it as life asking me to pivot.
Don’t ignore aches and pains when something feels off. Go get checked out.
Running is a privilege—one I’ll never take for granted again
