🩺 Good care starts with strong nursing leadership.

This week, our Directors of Nursing came together in Ooltewah, Tennessee, for Morning Pointe Senior Living’s annual Director of Nursing Conference, taking time away from their communities to learn from one another and strengthen the work they lead every day.

Sessions focused on the responsibilities our nursing leaders navigate, including leadership foundations, effective scheduling, partnerships with fellow directors, care plan meetings, and dementia observation, with an emphasis on helping care staff better understand and respond to behaviors.

We’re grateful for the nursing leaders who continue to grow in their roles and take what they learn back to their teams and, most importantly, to the residents they serve. 🤍

🌟 We’re shining on through National Assisted Living Week!

We’re halfway through the week, and our communities have been having a lot of fun with this year’s theme, “Shining Through the Years.”

So far, we’ve seen Grandparents Day celebrations, ’50s throwbacks, sweet treats, games and Words of Wisdom from residents, with each community putting its own personality into the week.

🕷️ How often do you get the chance to hold a tarantula or get this close to a tiger’s fur?

Zoo Knoxville brought some fascinating pieces of the animal world right to our residents. Jo got hands-on with tiger fur, residents examined a gorilla skull, and they even introduced everyone to a live tarantula!

A big thank-you to Zoo Knoxville for giving our residents such an up-close look at animals they don’t encounter every day. 🐯

National Assisted Living Week, September 13-19, is one of the highlights of our year because it's all about celebrating the people who make our communities so special. This year's theme, "Shining Through the Years," gives us the chance to look back on the decades our residents have experienced, celebrate the lives they've built, and enjoy a week filled with fun, connection, and shared stories.

The celebration kicked off with National Grandparents Day and will continue all week with special activities and events inspired by the decades our residents have lived through while honoring everything that makes assisted living such a vibrant place to call home.
