Garden update from North Unit!

Our North Unit boys have been putting in the work, and their garden is showing off! They brought in a great haul of fresh veggies, and all that rain we’ve had definitely gave the garden a boost!

There’s something pretty special about watching all that hard work, patience, and care turn into something you can harvest. Way to grow, North Unit!

Happy National Dog Day!

Today we’re celebrating some very important members of our staff families—their furry babies! Our team loved sharing photos of the pups who bring them unconditional love, endless laughs, and plenty of tail wags.

Mental health care is not one-size-fits-all, and every person has a unique journey.

At Midwest Center for Youth and Families, we provide a variety of mental health services to our local community and beyond. With Talkspace now part of our network, patients also have access to mental health support that fits around work, school and family schedules.

People deserve care that is easy to navigate, connected across care settings and built around their evolving needs.

With the storms and significant damage throughout our area over the past couple of weeks, we wanted to look back on a beautiful day at Rogers-Lakewood Park before the storms.

As part of our August Adventure theme, residents explored the park through a mindfulness activity focused on the five senses by slowing down, noticing their surroundings, and practicing being present in the moment.

We’re grateful for opportunities to bring skills outside of the Center and into the community while enjoying the beauty of our local parks.

What better way to celebrate success than with a Silent Disco! 🎧

Our residents spent time dancing and having fun while celebrating all of their hard work. From using their skills effectively to making progress toward their treatment goals, they had so much to be proud of!

We love creating opportunities to recognize their progress and remind them that growth deserves to be celebrated!

Meet Atlas, our certified therapy dog! 🐾

Atlas is helping us launch Sit. Stay. Heal., a program that recognizes student growth through positive choices, academic effort, using coping skills, making repairs after challenging moments and continuing to move forward.

Students can earn an exclusive Atlas T-shirt as they work toward their goals. We love seeing Atlas’ tail wags and the joy he brings to students and staff at Midwest Center! 🐶
