If you’re visiting Advanced Family Medicine, please be aware that there is currently construction near our building for the new Idaho Fitness Center.

⚠️ The entrance from School Road is temporarily CLOSED.

✅ Our Deer Flat Road entrance remains OPEN and is accessible to patients.

Please use the Deer Flat Road entrance when coming to your appointment. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while construction is underway.

On Thursday, August 20, 2026, our team will be participating in a half-day staff retreat focused on collaboration, learning, and finding new ways to better serve our patients and community.

Advanced Family Medicine is thrilled to welcome Shalimar Burwell, MD to our team! Beginning Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Dr. Burwell will be seeing patients at our Kuna clinic.

Shalimar Burwell, MD, grew up in Boise and completed her undergraduate studies at The College of Idaho. Before pursuing medicine, she worked as a research scientist, an experience that strengthened her commitment to evidence‑based, patient‑centered care. She attended Saba University School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency at Full Circle Health’s Nampa Program.

As a board‑certified Family Medicine physician, Dr. Burwell is excited to care for patients in the community where she was raised. She provides full‑spectrum family medicine, with clinical interests in preventive care, prenatal care and non‑surgical obstetrics, endoscopy, and global health. She is committed to partnering with patients, supporting their goals, and caring for families across generations. She looks forward to building long‑term relationships with patients and families.
