In Loving Memory of Thomas Joseph Martin, 77, of Rockland Township, PA, who passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. He was the husband of Sherrie A. Custar, whom he married on December 11, 2013. Born in Queens, New York, Thomas was a son of the late Stanley Jacobel and Regina Rose. He was raised by his mother, step-father, Oscar Meyers and grandmother Mary Rose, in the Manayunk neighborhood of PA. Thomas honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Army during the Vietnam Era. After serving in the military Thomas spent some time working in Saudi Arabia before returning to Manayunk.

Thomas was a skilled finish carpenter by trade; however he was a talented artist at heart. Crafting things from his hand was his forte. He had a vivid imagination and had a gift for telling stories that he applied to his creations. He was passionate about paper mache, making all kinds of items including birdhouses. He also enjoyed painting and sculpting. Thomas also was a restaurant entrepreneur. He owned and operated Thomas' Restaurant and Bar in Manayunk for over 20 years, a beloved staple in the Manayunk community. He was considered a pioneer in establishing the Main Street restaurant scene.

Thomas retired and moved to Mertztown, PA with his 'life' Sherrie. He filled his time creating art work, tinkering, gardening and turning their property into a relaxing oasis. They traveled together in their motor home. Thomas also enjoyed motorcycles and his beloved cats.

Along with his wife Sherrie, Thomas is survived by his daughter, Sara R. née Martin, wife of Ernie G. Bullard, Washington, ME; brother, Christopher Meyers, Sr., Philadelphia; sister, Lisa Meyers (Dave), Philadelphia; and nephews, Christopher Meyers, Jr., Joseph Meyers, Justin Barbaro, Elliot Barbaro and Nicholas Lawson, Robbie Martin, Dawn Martin, Megan Martin and Kevin Martin. Thomas is also survived by his extended family of Northeast Ohio, sister-in-laws, Connie (Paul) Mohr, Cathy Welsh, Shellie (Richard) Lepucki and Karen Custar; nieces and nephews, Buddy Mohr, Keith Welsh, Amy McClowry and Melissa Duncan.

A prayer service for Thomas will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Military honors will conclude services.

There will be a celebration of life for Thomas to follow at Hotel Fiesole 4046 Skippack Pike, Skippack PA from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The family encourages you to come and share stories and memories of Thomas.

In Loving Memory of Joyce Larue (Seigfried) Kemp, 88, formerly of Barto, PA, who passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026 in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice, Allentown, PA. Joyce most recently resided at The Residence at Boyertown, a place that she called "home" and was very happy there. She was the widow of Ernest W. Kemp, whom she married on November 25, 1955 and who died on July 9, 2020.

Born in Alburtis, PA, Joyce was a daughter of the late Melvin E. and Helen E. (Miller) Seigfried and was a graduate of Emmaus High School. Joyce was employed as a sewing machine operator having worked at both Bally Ribbon Mills and Bally Pants Factory. Joyce was a faithful and dedicated member of Huff's Union Church in Alburtis. She, along with her husband Ernest, oversaw the Oyster Pie fund-raising, along with numerous other fund-raising activities. She was also a member of the park committee and ladies auxiliary. Being part of the Huff's Church community was very important to Joyce.

Joyce was also happy being at home, where she took great pride in taking care of her house. She enjoyed being with her friends and traveling. She always was fond of one of her favorite trips; to Germany during Oktoberfest. Throughout her life, Joyce embodied kindness and compassion, imparting joyful memories to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a unique ability to bring people together and foster a sense of community. Joyce's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, reminding us to cherish every moment.

Joyce is survived by her two children, Terry L., husband of Sharon L. (Stauffer) Kemp, Boyertown; and Karen A. (Kemp), wife of Wayne A. Bucks, Barto; four grandchildren, Tammy L. Kemp; Rebecca L. (Kemp), wife of Scott Thomas; Cody A., husband of Casey L. (Hodges) Bucks; and Devon L. Bucks, husband of Marlee King; two great-granddaughters, Lillian M. and Autumn J., and a third great-granddaughter due in February which Joyce was looking forward to.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Joyce's life will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA, with Pastor Mike Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining Huff Church Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the church.

In Loving Memory of Russell G. Geist, 88, of Mertztown, who died peacefully, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in Lehigh Commons, Macungie. He was the husband of Peggy A. (Dankel) Geist. They were married June 25, 1960. Born in Longswamp Township, Russell was a son of the late George R. and Arlene E. (Eck) Geist. He was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown.

Russell was a graduate of the first class of Brandywine Heights Area High School, Class of 1956. He was employed as a laboratory technician for well over 30 years for Electro-Chemical Engineering and Manufacturing Company, Emmaus, he retired in 2008.

Russ enjoyed gardening and bowling. In his younger years he played the accordion and was a member of a softball team.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, Peggy, Russell is survived by his children: Tonia K. (Geist) Celiberti, Mertztown; Kelly L. Geist, Fleetwood; Tracey L. (Geist), wife of Brendan Horonzy, Kempton; and Kyle R., husband of Jami L. (Heffle) Geist, Fleetwood. Other survivors include six grandchildren: Adriane (Celiberti), wife of Michael Parese; Kaitlyn A. Geist; William K. Geist; Alexandria P. (Devonshire), wife of Michael Jones; Cody Horonzy; and Ciera Horonzy. There are also great grandchildren: Ava Parese; Mikaela Parese; Kayley Jones; J. J. Jones; and Oliver Jones.

Services for Russell will be private at the convenience of the family.

In Loving Memory of Roy Charles "Chuck" Hoch, Jr., 56, of Kutztown, who died unexpectedly Monday, August 31, 2026, in his residence. He was the loving husband of Eileen (McClafferty) Hoch. They were married November 16, 2000. Born in West Reading, Chuck was a son of Roy C. Hoch, Sr., Kutztown, and Barbara (Geiger) Keck, Kempton. He was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Kutztown.

Chuck was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1987. He went on to further his education, first at Lehigh County Community College, Schnecksville, earning an Associates degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences; then Albright College, Reading., where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration; and then from Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, NH, a Master's degree in Information Systems Management - Healthcare.

Chuck was employed for nearly 25 years as a Senior Data Admin Expert for Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown.

He was a motorcycle enthusiast, could talk politics with anyone he met, enjoyed spending time with his kids and his friends. He enjoyed music and attending concerts. Chuck took pride in working on new projects and learning new trades. He would often be working on a project around the house or on his vehicles. He always was reliable for friends and family and took care of the people he loved.

In addition to his wife of nearly 26 years, Eileen, Chuck is survived by his father and step mother, Roy C., Sr., husband of Lynne (Haslem) Hoch, Kutztown; and his mother, Barbara (Geiger) widow of of Michael Keck, Kempton. He is survived by his daughter Robyn A. Hoch, companion of Matthew T. Bertsch, Hamburg; and his son, Ryan J. Hoch, companion of Kaylee Albrecht, Kutztown.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Chuck's life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Martin A. Milne, officiating. Interment in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

In Loving Memory of Dorothy L. (Keim) Turner, 94, of Rockland Township, PA, who died on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Raymond S. Turner, who died April 16, 2008. Born in Maxatawny Township, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Stella H. (Schmoyer) Keim. She was a faithful and very active member of the former New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Rockland Township. Dorothy was very in volved in shoofly pie baking and potpie dinners at New Jerusalem for many years.

Dorothy was a graduate of Kutztown Area Senior High School, Class of 1949. She was a homemaker.

Dorothy enjoyed tending her flowers, watching the birds and other wildlife that would visit her property. Dorothy loved to play Parcheesi, Flinch, and Gin Rummy with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by four children: Allen C. Turner, Fleetwood; Sherwood R. Turner, Oley; Dean J. Turner, Mertztown; and Keith B. Turner, Milford, DE. Other survivors include ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. There is also a sister, Rachel F. (Keim) Moyer, Fleetwood. In addition to her husband, Raymond, and parents, Dorothy was predeceased by a daughter, Lori A. (Turner) Eck, who died July 27, 2022; and brothers: Kenneth, Edwin, William, Dale, and Robert 'Bobby' Keim.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Dorothy's life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood. There are no public viewing or calling hours.

In Loving Memory of Joanne Louise (Schwoyer) Kramer Pauley, 79, of Bowers, PA, who passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Cedar Crest Post Acute, Allentown, PA. She was the loving wife of Daniel J. Pauley, Sr., whom she married on January 5, 1991. Her first husband Dennis Q. Kramer died on September 25, 1988.

Born in Reading, PA, Joanne was a daughter of the late James E. and Mabel A. (Stump) Schwoyer and was a 1965 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Joanne was employed in the clean room by Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent and lastly, Agere Systems for many years until her retirement. She also was employed by Kutztown University where she worked at Chez Nous in Rothermel Hall.

Joanne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown, and was a member of the former New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. She was also a member of the Lyons Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Pike Township Sportsmen's Association.

Joanne loved to clean and keep her home tidy. She also had a love for music, animals, traveling and talking on the phone with her relatives and friends. Joanne devoted her life to her family, finding joy in every moment spent with them. Her warmth and genuine care for others left an indelible mark that will be felt long after her passing.

In addition to her husband Dan, Joanne is survived by her two children, Dennis "Mike" Kramer, husband of Michele L. (Roman) Kramer, Blandon, PA, and Julie A. Kramer, companion of Steve A. Mathis, Kutztown; sister, Lucille M. (Schwoyer), widow of Theodore "Ted" Jones,Topton; four grandchildren, Valerie A. Kramer, wife of Steven Katin, Dylan J. Kramer, Jacob D., husband of Lea (Bartman) Kramer and Julian D. Tich; three great-grandchildren, Ophelia G. Kramer, Dorothea M. Kramer, and Ellie T. Katin; Dan's children, Theresa M. Pauley, Reading, Lisa A. (Pauley) Rohall, widow of Wayne Rohall, Blandon, Elaine L. (Pauley) Lovell, Reading, and Daniel J. Pauley, Jr., husband of Stacey (Gorr) Pauley, Blandon; and nine step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Along with her first husband Dennis and parents, Joanne was predeceased by her siblings, James Schwoyer, Virginia Schwoyer, Forrest Schwoyer, William Schwoyer, Gloria Schwoyer, Phyllis (Schwoyer) Leibensperger, Ronald Schwoyer, Carol Anne Schwoyer and Sallie (Schwoyer) Weil.

A viewing for Joanne will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA.

A second viewing will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown, PA, followed by a funeral service to celebrate and honor her life at 2:00 p.m. officiated by The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman.

Burial will conclude services at New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood, PA.

⚾ A Fun Night at the Ballpark! ⚾

Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care recently treated our dedicated staff and their families to a fun-filled evening at a Reading Fightin Phils baseball game!

Our work is centered around caring for families in our community, and we know that begins with having an incredible team of people who care deeply about what they do. It was wonderful to get away from the office, enjoy some baseball, share plenty of laughs, and spend quality time together with the families who support us every day.

We are incredibly grateful for each member of our staff and the commitment, compassion, and professionalism they bring to the families we have the privilege of serving.

Thank you to our staff and families for making it such a memorable evening. Great people, great company, and a great night at the ballpark! ⚾❤️
