Who hasn’t had a little back pain here and there? Especially when you sit at a computer or are on your phone for extended periods. But how do you fix it? It’s a question we get a lot. So we asked a physical therapist what they would do in your situation.

From improving your chair setup to implementing gentle stretch breaks, you can do a few things at home or work. But if it’s not getting better in a week or so, that’s when you call us.

Just when you might think your breast cancer journey is over, stiffness from multiple surgeries may take over like it did for Monica Cartmill.

Monica's 11-year-old son learned how to help her in the kitchen when cooking was too painful, but she wanted to take her recovery to the next step with ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Emily Place.

Heather Cardena had a mammogram two weeks after her 36th birthday. The mother of two active young boys was shocked when the results came back: breast cancer. And it had spread to one lymph node.

“I knew I needed to be the mom those boys deserve,” Heather said. “This isn’t a journey that they chose; this is something that I just have to deal with.”

The good news is, Heather didn’t have to deal with it alone. With the help of physical therapy and our ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation program, she was able to regain energy and get back to lifting her children again. Even with surgery and an aggressive chemotherapy regimen, ReVital helped her get through treatment while minimizing side effects.

Heather gets choked up thinking about how far she has come, especially when she talks about the moment she was finally able to pick up her youngest son again.

“To get to a place where I was able to hold him again, that first time was definitely very emotional,” she shared. “It was definitely one of the happier moments of this journey.

Living with chronic pain is scary and common — whether it’s low back, shoulder, knee, head (migraines), neck or hip pain.

But here’s the thing about chronic pain from our latest blog that may be truly shocking: The mental and emotional component can actually limit your physical recovery.

And the really surprising part is that physical therapy doesn’t just help with the physical part. Structured and supervised movement from physical therapy can help your brain realize that you can move without extreme pain, giving you the power to keep going, which is crucial for proper and lasting improvement. It’s a positive feedback loop for your body.

There’s so much more to treating chronic pain, so read the blog to see how long treatment usually takes and whether you have any “red flags” that could affect your treatment plan. https://bit.ly/4rGMGC4

Breast cancer can change everything — how you move, how you feel and how you navigate everyday life.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we honor every person facing breast cancer and every survivor continuing their journey. This month is about more than pink ribbons. It’s about supporting patients at every stage of treatment and recovery. Recovery looks different for everyone, but no one should have to face the challenges alone.

Our ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation program helps patients manage treatment-related side effects, regain strength and function and return to the activities that matter most, whether it’s returning to the dance floor, getting back to work or being more present with your loved ones.

We're proud to stand beside patients every step of the way.

October is National Physical Therapy Month! We asked our therapists: "What do you wish every patient knew about physical therapy?" From dispelling major myths to sharing true words of inspiration and encouragement, they did not disappoint.

Whether it’s sports injuries, joint pain, pelvic health, cancer rehabilitation or specialty care, our dedicated therapists put their skills to work to help you move better, heal faster and get back to what you love.

Join us throughout the month in thanking physical therapists for their vital role in helping patients restore mobility, reduce pain and regain independence.

Megan Mills spent decades on her feet before retiring as an educator. About 10 years ago, it became increasingly difficult to walk without extensive pain due to osteoarthritis in her right knee.

Over the past 10 years, Megan's previously active lifestyle slowed. She wasn't able to walk, run, garden, do yoga or renovate houses like she once did.

In July, she had a full, right knee replacement. It was Megan's first surgery, so she wasn't sure what to expect. She kept her expectations low; she knew she would be limited after surgery.

However, Megan embraced physical therapy. She worked with Physical Therapist Alexandra Eyler, who helped with her confidence and recovery plan. By week two, she was able to do a full rotation on the recumbent bike.

"I feel like my recovery plan is catered for me," Megan shared, "and it has been so very helpful."
