Here’s a fun BEFORE and AFTER photo of the office I have put together for social services provided within the school.

Thank you so much for the La Crosse School custodians and workers who laid the carpet and changed our old ceiling tiles!

This calming and private space will be for students to use for their tele-health appointments, face-to-face therapy, and for students who receive case management or other services with partnering agencies. Other purposes of the space include one-on-one student testing, student mock interviews, and a space for staff to make private calls or join zoom meetings, etc.

I am so excited and feel very blessed that our school has a designated space for social and emotional learning, connection, and growth! It’s a great day to be a leopard! 💛🖤

✏️ Come join us next week on Tuesday, August 18 from 4:00-7:00pm for K-12 La Crosse School’s open house! Meet the teachers, staff, come see our summer updates, familiarize yourself with the school and bring your school supplies along!

✂️ There will be a ribbon-cutting and plaque dedication event at 5:00pm in front of the school as well! Ice cream will be served!

This concept is very familiar to me. Through grade school all the way through college I learned just how much highlighters, using note cards, reducing visual distractions, outlining information and “chunking” can be helpful in reducing overwhelm.

I have seen some mamas looking for someone who can make t-shirt blankets so thought I’d post this resource! My daughter has a La Crosse leopard blanket similar to Terry’s and she uses it all the time for bus rides and track meets.
