Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics

Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Equitable and high quality healthcare customized for the low income residents of Illinois

https://linktr.ee/iafcc

Free and charitable clinics provide essential primary medical and dental services, prescription medicine and access to diagnostic and hospital services for over 40,000 Illinoisans.

• There are over 50 free and charitable clinics in Illinois with combined
budgets of $50 million, including $18 million of in kind pharmaceuticals.
• Free and charitable clinics rely on private donations, non-gover

nmental
grants, volunteers and donated goods and services.
• So far, health reform has not considered free and charitable clinics, increasing their vulnerability.
• Medicaid cuts will lead more patients to depend on free and charitable clinics for essential health services. The IAFCC works toward a culturally and linguistically appropriate healthcare environment that provides free or affordable, high-quality health services that promote the elimination of health disparities among uninsured and underserved populations

What happens when the need for affordable healthcare continues to grow, but the resources available to provide it don’t? 🤔

IAFCC’s Springfield advocacy team, Debbie Clark Broadfield and Kristin Rubbelke, recently joined Community Pulse host Levi Moore to discuss the Illinois state budget, healthcare funding, and some of the challenges ahead.

Their conversation is an important reminder of why supporting IAFCC and Illinois free and charitable clinics matters. 💙

Today’s is on the amazing team of The Night Ministry!

Sometimes care begins with something as simple as being seen, heard, and knowing someone is there to help.

This spirit of human connection is at the heart of The Night Ministry’s work. Their team continues to show what it means to care for their neighbors with compassion and to build trust with people who too often face barriers to the support they need.

We’re grateful to celebrate the people behind this work and the difference they make throughout Chicago every day. 💙

Congratulations on your 50th Anniversary!! 🎉🎊💙🙌🏼💃

This week, two celebrations come together around one shared purpose: connecting people with the care and support they need.

While we continue to celebrate Illinois Free & Charitable Clinics Month, we are also proud to recognize National Community Health Worker Awareness Week, August 24-28, as celebrated by the National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW).

Community Health Workers (CHWs) are trusted neighbors, connectors, advocates, and guides who help people navigate the healthcare system, overcome barriers, and access important services and resources.

This same spirit of connection is also at the heart of free and charitable clinics. Together, CHWs, clinics, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and community partners help make care feel a little more accessible for the people who need it.

This week, we celebrate CHWs everywhere and thank them for the relationships they build and the difference they make in their communities. 🎉💙⭐🎊

Today’s is on Tri City Health Partnership (Tchpfreeclinic)!

Going strong for 25 years, TCHP has been showing what it means to care for their neighbors. Behind every patient visit is a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and community partners committed to making sure people have somewhere to turn when they need essential care.

We’re honored to celebrate the difference TCHP continues to make in Kane County, and we congratulate them on their 25th Anniversary!!! 💙🎉🎊💃🕺🏼🙌🏼

Today’s is on the Interprofessional Community Clinic (ICC) at the Rosalind Franklin University.

The ICC is a student-led clinic where the next generation of healthcare professionals is already showing up for their community. 💙

Health professions students from multiple disciplines work side by side with volunteer faculty to break down real barriers to care, including language, transportation, and medication costs. This is healthcare built on teamwork, and it's making a huge difference across Lake County.

This goes out to the amazing team at Chicago Dental Society Foundation Dental Clinic. 💙

CDS Foundation Dental Clinic is the only dental foundation-owned clinic in Illinois, run entirely by volunteer dentists, hygienists, and assistants who show up because they believe every smile deserves care. 🦷

Their impact speaks for itself: millions of dollars in free dental care, delivered with warmth and patience to those who'd otherwise go without. Behind every appointment is a team that treats people, not just teeth.

Join us in celebrating their heart for the community! 👏💙
