After more than a decade serving clients in San Diego—alongside collaborations with UCSD scientists—we’re preparing to bring the Alpha Theta Center to Ventura County.

This week, my partner Rikki officially arrived in Santa Barbara to begin scouting locations for our new Ventura office and home.

It’s the first step in a carefully planned relocation to bring our blend of QEEG-guided neurofeedback, HD-tES brain stimulation, and intensive psychotherapy to a new community.

We’re not quite ready to book appointments, but we’re here and listening.

* Thousands of EEGs recorded and analyzed
* Licensed Clinical psychologist-led
* Opening Early Summer 2025

Feel free to message us if you're curious—or just say hello as we settle in.

Big changes—and something I’m proud to share --

After more than a decade of serving the San Diego community—supporting memory, clarity, and mental performance through neurofeedback and HD-tES—I’ll be relocating the Alpha Theta Center to Ventura County.

San Diego clients: I’ll continue offering sessions here through [insert date].

Ventura County residents: I’ll begin offering limited consults and services starting this summer.

Feel free to message me directly, or visit [website link] for more info.

A New Chapter in Cognitive Care – Evolving, Expanding, and Evidence-Based

For over a decade, Alpha Theta Center has offered data-driven brain training in San Diego—combining quantitative EEG (qEEG), neurofeedback, and more recently, high-definition transcranial electrical stimulation (HD-tES).

In the last 6 months, we’ve seen remarkable shifts in working memory, focus, and clarity—especially when integrating traditional neurofeedback with personalized brain stimulation protocols.

As demand for cognitive support grows—especially among high-functioning adults, aging professionals, and individuals recovering from burnout or brain fog—we’ve expanded our assessment tools, protocols, and service delivery model.

Over 15,000 EEGs recorded
HD-tES protocols now available
Precision-based training for memory, attention, and clarity

We are currently accepting new clients for both remote and in-person sessions.

If you’ve been curious about neurofeedback, brain mapping, or data-guided cognitive optimization, feel free to reach out.

📢 A Bold New Chapter at Alpha Theta Center 📢

At Alpha Theta Center, our mission has always been simple yet profound: “To protect and enhance human consciousness.” Every service we’ve offered, from our precision EEG analysis to neurofeedback, has been designed to empower you to achieve your best self.

Now, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re taking our work to the next level.

By incorporating cutting-edge neuromodulation technologies like HD-tES, we’re expanding our ability to support cognitive health. This innovation allows us to go beyond the limits of traditional neurofeedback, focusing on reducing cognitive decline and enhancing mental clarity as you navigate the aging process.

We’re also proud to introduce a new dimension to our care: psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy. With the expertise of a highly trained psychologist, we now provide deeper insight and understanding to help you achieve emotional and psychological balance alongside cognitive wellness.

From sharper focus to better memory, emotional growth, and overall brain health, we’re here to help you thrive at every stage of life. This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we’re just getting started.

Thanks to the field of Neuroscience, neurofeedback providers have advanced tools to preprocess scalp-recorded EEG data. Among these many tools, Independent component analysis (ICA) is a powerful (and ubiquitous throughout the technical world) demonstration of a modern signal processing tool. Because ICA “learns” it is related to machine learning and AI. ICA can decompose scalp-level recorded data into eye blinks, muscle movement, line noise, and of course, cortical activity. It performs this task blindly, that is, it decomposes signals without requiring sensor location information, and that is why it is part of the Blind Source Separation (BSS) family of algorithms. The use of ICA on EEG data, pioneered by Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience at UCSD, opened another level of EEG science. ICA is built on a series of assumptions (such as temporal independence and non-Gaussian distribution) thus gaining near magical performance from exploitation of these seemingly humble assumptions.

Neurofeedback provides brain regulation which has helped many improve unwanted behaviors.

Picture Yourself....
✔️Experiencing mood stabilization and no longer feeling ‘on the edge’
✔️Ability to focus seamlessly on varying tasks whether at work or school
✔️Sleeping restfully though the night and waking up energized
✔️Feeling grounded and able to cope with a past trauma

Do you have…

Insomnia, attention deficit behaviors, a traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, a mood disorder or another mental illness? Are you experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one? Is your child or family member on the autism spectrum? Or perhaps you feel a cognitive decline due to aging. The list of concerns is endless, but neurofeedback brain training can address all of them by guiding your brain to self-regulation.

We are ready to give you the tools you need to start a healthier life.
