For more than 25 years, Dr. Mel Kurtulus has provided endometriosis excision surgery, and was instrumental and bringing Robotic surgery to Scripps La Jolla Hospital.
Dr. Kurtulus has trained many doctors both locally and internationally in robotic surgery, in an effort to make it widely available to women who suffer from this debilitating disease.

Cassandra is a compassionate and dedicated healthcare provider with a strong commitment to evidence-based care. With years of experience in both women’s health and dermatology, she understands the importance of offering comprehensive, thoughtful care to help patients achieve their best health and wellness. Cassandra strives to create a supportive environment where every patient feels heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions about their care.
Born and raised in San Diego, Cassandra is proud to serve the community she calls home. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and went on to complete her physician assistant training at Stanford University. With a broad skill set, Cassandra offers full-spectrum gynecologic care, including well-woman exams, infection checks, preconception and family planning counseling, IUD and Nexplanon placements, as well as the management of abnormal bleeding and pelvic pain.
Outside of her practice, Cassandra enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She has a passion for travel and loves exploring the great outdoors.
Cassandra is available at both the La Jolla and Encinitas locations.

More new faces! Introducing Physician Assistant Brooke O’Neill, PA-C

Brooke came to our practice from Reno, Nevada, with prior experience in gynecology and urogynecology. She also has special first assist training and certification in robotic surgery.
She graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Pacific in Sacramento, California. She graduated top of her class with Magna Cum Laude.
She enjoys helping women improve their quality of life and look and feel their best selves. Women are an underrepresented group in health care and she wishes to give them a more expansive voice. She sees patients for preventative health visits, OB check ups, gynecological concerns, contraception counseling and procedures, pessary care, vaginal rejuvenation such as Mona Lisa Touch therapy, and more
