I’ve done many Breast Cancer Advocacy trainings but something about THIS group - just made an impact unlike others.

I made absolutely amazing connections. The stories of their Cancer journeys, life stories, advocacy groups and their strength to continue to fight - helped to continue to fuel my fire to fight to end this disease.

It was so inspirational that it brought me to tears when it was time to graduate.

Thank you National Breast Cancer Coalition for accepting me into the 2024 Project Lead program. This was an experience I’ll never forget.

Today is October 1st and October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Just like every other October - it's my time to raise awareness about the importance of screening and the early detection of Breast Cancer.

Approximately 300,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and while breast cancer incidence rates among Black and white women are similar, the mortality rates are very different.

Black women are more likely to die from breast cancer than white women. ‼️Just this week - I’ve had two friends share that we’ve lost TWO beautiful black women to Metastatic Breast Cancer.‼️

I’m more passionate than before about raising awareness on the racial disparities in Breast Cancer mortality and how to improve them.

These improvements can start in the early days after diagnosis by ensuring that black women have access to reliable, clear, and accurate genetic profiling especially since recent data has shown that not all genomic tests are the same or as accurate for black women.

Here’s one of my 24 interviews — not gonna post them all because I’m essentially delivering the same message.

However it’s a very important message…

‼️Black Women have a 40% higher Breast Cancer mortality rate than White Women. FORTY PERCENT‼️

Today is THE day to support my Breast Surgeon foundation — the National Breast Center Foundation.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, cancer isn't cancelled. Many have had to handle the stress of the virus along with dealing the the struggles that come with battling cancer. Those with cancer are at a higher risk at this time.

The National Breast Center Foundation exists to improve the lives of women by removing barriers that prevent them from getting proper screening, diagnosis, and education about breast cancer. Our region has the HIGHEST incidence and mortality from breast cancer in the nation. Women in our area also have one of the highest rates of late stage breast cancer.

It is time to SPRING2ACTION.

*DONATE! DONATE! DONATE!*

‼️‼️‼️‼️

I’m ready to support National Breast Center Foundation on April 27, 2022 during Spring2ACTion. Learn more about National Breast Center Foundation and all the other organizations participating in .
