✨Senior Sunday Spotlight*

Grief can affect people in many ways. It may show up as sadness, fatigue, changes in sleep, loss of interest, or difficulty finding comfort in familiar routines.

For older adults, grief may be connected to the loss of a spouse, friend, independence, health, or a long-held role in life. These experiences deserve care, patience, and support.

Talking with others in a supportive setting can help older adults process what they are experiencing and build coping skills for the days ahead.

Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center’s Senior Life Solutions supports older adults experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, and life changes through outpatient mental health services, including group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management.

You do not have to carry grief alone. Support is available.

Whether you are recovering from surgery or an injury, working to improve strength and balance, managing neurological changes, or needing support with speech, swallowing, cognition, or development, AVRMC offers a wide range of rehabilitation services close to home.

Our team provides care for orthopedic and sports injuries, certified hand therapy, physical and neurological conditions, pediatrics, developmental disorders, and Speech-Language Pathology.

Join the Southern Colorado Healthcare Consortium on Friday, September 18 at Otero College for the Free Community Training Day, featuring Mental Health First Aid, COMET, a Naloxone demonstration, a Community Health Fair, and CALM training.

Whether you work in healthcare, education, public service, or simply want to be better prepared to support the people around you, these trainings are open to the community at no cost.
