Are You Flossing Too Hard?
Flossing should never feel like sawing lumber or snapping thread against your gums. Snapping floss straight down cuts delicate gum tissue, leading to localized recession and bleeding that mimics gum disease. Instead, curve the floss into a gentle "C" shape around the side of each tooth, sliding it carefully below the gumline and wiping up and down along the tooth surface.
