Sound Solutions Hearing & Balance Centers Additional office in Huntington Beach: 7106 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647 - (714)842-2700 And from near and far did they come!

Dr. Caldwell-Miller takes pride in improving the lives of her patients with her unique level of individualized care. She founded Sound Solutions Hearing & Balance Center in the city of La Palma after becoming disillusioned working for a large corporately owned chain of hearing aid retailers. Having been raised a "small town girl", the quaint city of La Palma was the perfect community in which to b

uild her vision of what home town hearing care should look like. Tired of adhering to tight schedules and rushing her patients out the door, she founded Sound Solutions to improve the level of hearing and balance related healthcare for patients near and far. Though Sound Solutions is rarely advertised in the area, word has certainly spread that Dr. Caldwell-Miller’s concept is working. Although the majority of her patients live locally, there are quite a few that travel into the area in order to obtain audiology and hearing aid services on the advice of their physician or a friend. Today, it seems that Dr. Mikal (as her patients affectionately call her) has brought her dream to reality. State of the art hearing and balance care together with the good old fashioned service patients deserve is now available at Sound Solutions Hearing & Balance Center. Call (714) 523-4327 to find out how her unique individualized care may work to improve your quality of life through better hearing!

7️⃣ Reasons to Get Your Hearing Tested

Too often, people delay getting a hearing test because they don’t realize that testing and treating their hearing loss can transform their lives. Here are the top reasons to get your tested:

👩🏻‍⚕️ Rule out a serious medical issue. Hearing loss can also be an early sign of cardiovascular problems, diabetes, or dementia. Get tested immediately if you notice a change in your hearing or balance or have tinnitus or difficulty understanding speech.

🧠 Reduce the risk of brain shrinkage and memory problems. Hearing loss is associated with accelerated brain atrophy, especially in the area of the brain used for short-term memory.

🤷 Decrease the chance of mental decline from dementia. Countless studies show that untreated hearing loss speeds up age-related cognitive decline.

🏆 Improve productivity at work—and increase your paycheck. When you have hearing loss, your brain utilizes resources that would otherwise go toward problem-solving.

🏃‍♂️Keep active and prevent the gradual onset of social isolation and depression. Decreased hearing ability can lead to decreased social activity. Decreased activity leads to isolation, which may then lead to depression.

🧘 Reduce stress and fatigue. Active listening (concentrating on what’s being said) can be tiring for anyone. For someone with hearing loss, it can be exhausting.

🧍🏼‍♂️🧍🏻‍♀️Enhance the lives of your family members, coworkers, and friends. One of the most overlooked factors is how hearing loss affects other people. Communication is a two-way street, and hearing loss may affect your loved ones as much as it affects you.

Exciting news for all, but especially the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

“This reimagining of Disney Animation musical numbers helps bring down barriers and allows us to connect in a special way with our audiences in the Deaf community. I’m grateful that the Studio got behind making something so impactful.”
— HYRUM OSMOND, DIRECTOR

Three musical numbers from 'Frozen 2,' 'Encanto,' and 'Moana 2' are reimagined in American Sign Language with new character animation.

It’s that time of year! Although California has lower pollen counts compared to other states, there are still abundant allergens “springing” up! 🌸🌳 🪻🌾🌷

Did you know allergies can negatively affect your hearing?

It’s true! Seasonal allergies can affect hearing because the ears, nose, and throat are all connected. When allergens like pollen, mold, or grass trigger a histamine release, it causes inflammation and swelling in the nasal passages. This swelling can then impact the interconnected passageways, potentially leading to hearing issues.

Take good care of your health this spring, and as always, give us a call if we can help!
