Real talk: I absolutely love my career. I get to do meaningful, impactful, important work with women and families and *truly* feel I'm changing the world one birth at a time. On top of that, I make my own hours, am home with my kids, and get to come to camp every summer! During my maternity leave in 2016 I took a leap of faith and signed up for Rachelle Oseran's Lamaze Seminar and became a certified childbirth educator. *Despite pressure… I declined*

This is how everyone deserves to feel while giving birth. This first time mama, who also happens to be a Doctor, said she would’ve dreamed of a homebirth… and due to “advanced” maternal age and some other factors she chose a hospital birth setting. We worked together for nearly 6 months crafting and refining her birth preferences. When I received this message from her I burst into tears (with a huge smile). 🥹😍

And thanks to the work we put in and the supports put in place during pregnancy, she’s now having a smooth and blissful transition into motherhood 🥰

📞 When labor calls… how do you answer?

Is it with fear, panic and anxiety? Lots of questions, unknowns, and looking for external validation?

What if, from the first ring 📞 you answered the call with a breath - inhale & exhale. You pulled your response from deep inside, getting so quiet that you could hear your body telling you exactly what to do. You answered each ring 📞 with a calm, a knowing and a power.
