Happy International Day of the Midwife!

Today, May 5th, 2026, we honor the incredible individuals who provide essential care, advocacy, and support to families during some of life’s most transformative moments.
Midwives do more than deliver babies; they are defenders of reproductive rights, providers of culturally competent care, and pillars of community health. Their dedication to equity, autonomy, and wellness makes our communities stronger and healthier.

To all the midwives and birth workers out there, thank you for your tireless work and for being the guardians of new beginnings.

How do I deliver with Community Birth Center?

1. Tour the birth center.
Community Birth Center offers free tours and consultations. To schedule a tour please send us a text with your name and due date, or send us an email.

2. Establish care with a CBC Midwife.
Credentialed Midwives at the Community Birth Center can be found on our website. Once you've established care, notify your midwife that you would like to deliver at the CBC.

3. Complete registration paperwork and submit $100 registration fee at time of registration to hold your spot. Due to capacity, we limit the amount of planned deliveries at our facility.

My name is Magen Harris. I am an LMT, CE instructor, Doula, Wife and Mother. I live in Olympia with my husband and our two lovely daughters. I specialize in injury treatment, myofascial release, Manual Lymph Drainage, intraoral/TMJ release, and prenatal, labor, and postpartum Bodywork.

As long as I can remember, I have had a passion for healing. Every new modality I learn I get more fascinated with our brain’s connection to our bodies. I have had the joy of learning, growing and changing in this industry for four years. This experience has completely altered my view on the human body and how important the muscular system is to our over all health and well being. Our bodies take on so much weight, movement, trauma and change. Together we will create a treatment plan to get you one step closer to relieving the pain and discomfort that comes with the stress of our daily lives.

What are Monitrice Services?
~Labor support professional with clinical training
~Partners great with hospital birth situations
~Does not replace a midwife
~Can work alongside a midwife or physician to help meet birth goals
~Similar to a doula but with additional clinical assessment to guide decision-making
~Helps you to labor with minimal interventions and/or labor at home as long as possible
