South Sound Behavioral Hospital is a psychiatric hospital in Lacey, Washington, treating mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders since 2019. Inpatient care includes adult mental health, an adult intensive care unit, adult dual diagnosis, acute medical detox, and adolescent services, with specialized programming that includes Extra Mile Military Care, Women's Connection, and tribal and holistic therapies. Fear, anxiety, sadness, anger, and uncertainty are all human responses to an incredibly difficult experience. Reaching out for mental health support can help. Talk to someone you trust. The Adolescent Programs at South Sound Behavioral Hospital are designed to support teens (13-17) who are experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use, and other mental health concerns that are impacting their day to day life, academics and more. Through compassionate and comprehensive treatment plans that incorporate the individual and their family/supporters, teens learn how to re-establish good, stable relationships and a new path to thrive into adulthood. SSBH was honored to participate in this year's annual- FILL THE RUCK- event at JBLM (Joint Base Lewis McCord) on September 18th. This annual event brings active-duty units together to "Break the Stigma and Share the Load" with team cohesion and mental resilience with su***de prevention training. SSBH was grateful to participate and sponsor at this year's Thurston County FOOFARAW event held on 9/11 with the Olympia Yacht Club and active military members from JBLM. Every boat was greeted with a lights and sirens send-off from Olympia Fire & Law Enforcement. It was the perfect day of great food, games, raffles and gratitude for WA State Active Military members, Veterans and the volunteers who make this event happen each year.
