📣BREAKING Scientific Research behind Placental Encapsulation

Hear what Nancy Wainer, CPM says about this:

“When new information comes to light, it makes sense to drop our collective egos and consider it. This article contains information for every person involved with birth in any way. If you have been in favor of placental encapsulation, it is absolutely vital that you read this information. It is fresh, new material that most of us who have been involved with birth for a very long time did not know. As someone who intuitively was never a fan, I am so grateful to Sharon for the time she invested and the research she did so that I can be even more sure about the concerns I had. This information will spur new discussions that are vitally important, and spawn change. Most important of all, this information will help protect mothers and babies and serve to ensure that we thoroughly examine anything in which we become engaged too soon.”

For the past two years I have been walking in my calling towards Midwifery ❤️

This May will mark my two year anniversary with licensed preceptor Sharon Morgan LM,CPM, CNC and her Midwifery practice “New Song New Life” based in Whittemore, MI

In my time under her tutelage I’ve:

🎉 Began Midwifery College
🎉 Taken too many continuing education courses to count
🎉 Expanded my client load
🎉 Started reframing my business
🎉 Read & reviewed countless educational articles (Sharon is a wonderfully prolific writer)
🎉Gotten a speeding ticket 👀 Lesson Learned!
🎉Visited Ina May Gaskin & Freida Miller ❤️❤️

But my favorite thing we’ve been working towards is in its final stages…

A Bed & Birth House 🎉 aka Birth Center

This project has been years in the making as Sharon and her husband have completely gutted and started over from the ground.
Sharon has been meticulously detailed, and artistically conscious in every aspect in hopes that every family who is under our care receives something they won’t get anywhere else! This is such a labor of Love, their family has poured so much into this.

The building itself is coming along so beautifully and I cannot wait to share the Grand Opening with all of you! Our hopeful estimation is this Summer!

As I continue on this journey I wanted to let my prospective clientele know that YES I am still taking doula clients, but only at Alpena Hospital. I now take a wider range of insurances and am happy to support you in the birth that you want!

If however you think you would LOVE to have a Homebirth with a highly respected, safe, Christian Midwife, give Sharon a call to see if you are in our service range. Due to my proximity to Alpena, we have expanded our service area further north!
You’ll get me as a student Midwife in her care 😘
and I just love the vast amount of added education, nutritional support and Informed consent that you get in New Song New Life’s loving care.

For the past 5/6 years Sharon’s services have been purely word of mouth! Now with the coming of the Birth House, her website is going live:

💐If you have experienced New Song New Life’s care would you mind leaving a comment for expecting parents to review.

💐Please share to get the word out!

Blessings to all the birthing families here in Northeast Michigan. Your Birthworkers pray for you often and are working diligently to bring you the very best care.

Are you interested in pursuing a career as a Doula? 🤰
Have you been thinking about it for some time and just not sure how you want to make this a reality in your life?
Perhaps you have a full-time job but would like to supplement your income by taking on private clients.
Do you have a strong desire to provide emotional support to women during a pivotal moment in their lives?

Studies show when a woman feels SAFE and fully supported in her childbearing years, the positive outcomes for the entire family increase!

This support MATTERS & continues to make positive impacts.

Even if attending births may not be feasible, would you be interested in providing educational support or postpartum care?

Someone they talk to who can give evidence based information.
Someone who can stop in after birth and do some chores, assist with breastfeeding, hold baby while mom showers etc.

If you know someone who would excel in this role, please share this information with them! NE Michigan needs more doulas!

Full scholarships are available, with stipends provided upon completion.

We appreciate your help in spreading the word about this opportunity.
Interested individuals can apply directly through this link: https://heartsoulbirthpros.com/scholarship/.

This is a great opportunity for individuals in Northeast Michigan to become birth workers and contribute to supportive birth environments.

If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out.
And IF & WHEN you take this step, reach out to me! There’s a community of birthworkers here who would love to support you on your journey 🤗

Denmark is moving away from the “cry it out” sleep training method, largely due to pressure from over 700 psychologists who signed an open letter citing harm to infant emotional development, leading the Danish board to reconsider its guidance, emphasizing responsive care and secure attachment as healthier alternatives.

Studies find consistently ignoring a crying baby can negatively impact their brain development, increase stress hormones like cortisol and can even affect their future emotional health.

Babies communicate their needs by crying, and ignoring these cries can lead to prolonged periods of stress, causing a rise in cortisol levels. Elevated cortisol levels can negatively impact brain development, brain structure and a baby’s ability to regulate stress even later in life.

Consistent responsiveness to a baby’s cries helps them develop a sense of security and trust in their caregivers. This can lead to a more secure attachment, which is crucial for emotional well-being, healthy social relationships and brain development.

Babies are not trying to manipulate their parents when they cry, they are communicating their needs and attempting to establish a connection. Responding to these cries is critical for building a strong bond and promoting healthy development.

Thoughts 💭

Decades of research have shown that round-the-clock fetal monitoring does not reliably predict fetal distress, and experts say it leads to many unnecessary surgeries. But it’s still used in nearly every birth in the U.S. because of business and legal concerns, a New York Times investigation found. https://nyti.ms/3WF7yLx
