Critter Clinic activity: Halloween edition ! Critter clinic is a great activity to target language skills or use as a reward when doing articulation drills!
This patient had fun helping animals while working on communication and language skills. The patient practiced requesting keys to open doors, identifying animals/colors, and doctor tools. The therapist expanded on the patient’s single-word responses and modeled longer phrases to encourage language growth and support understanding.
Throughout the activity, the patient also worked on answering simple WH-questions, following one step directions, making requests, and describing items multiple modifiers (i.e., size, colors, numbers, etc). This activity overall promoted functional communication and vocabulary development!
