Friday is the last day to get your hot crawfish orders in!! These come straight from Mitchell Krielow’s dad’s ponds. Select and boiled to perfection 🙂 They are a hit each year!

We’re hosting a crawfish boil fundraiser to support the technology needs of Red Oaks Cottage School, where we serve children with special needs and medically fragile needs. On the day of the event, you’ll drive through and pick up 4 pounds of hot, seasoned crawfish along with corn and a potato. ...

Saul, the king of Israel, began to panic, or so it would seem.

The odds were stacked against them as they prepared to face the Philistines. His men were quaking with fear and began to scatter.

Overcome by impatience and desperate for the Lord’s favor in battle, Saul offers the sacrifice himself rather than waiting for the prophet Samuel, thus violating the Lord's command.

When confronted by Samuel, who arrived moments later, Saul excused himself, shifting the blame.
Samuel showed up too late.
The men were scattering.
He “felt compelled” to act.

As I finished reading about Saul (1 Samuel 13), a few questions and thoughts began to stir in my mind.

✴️ How often are we led by our feelings? How often do we let fear, panic, or a sense of urgency take the reins?

✴️ When confronted about our wrong-doings, do we make excuses like Saul or do we have the humility and courage it takes to admit our mistakes?

Because of Saul's disobedience, God chose another to take his place as king. He lost the kingdom not only for himself, but for his children, his children's children, for his entire family line.

Our hasty decisions, our impatience, and our disregard for God's commands can impact not only us, but also those within our realms of influence.

Lord, help us to follow your guidance. Help us to walk within the confines that you have set forth in your word. Let us not stumble around in darkness, but let us be a light for those who cross our paths. Amen.
