After working with so many moms inside my pelvic floor physical therapy practice in
Lafayette, I have seen the benefits first hand of addressing your pelvic floor during birth.

Being proactive and learning how to push, how to exercise, and protect your pelvic floor WITH your changing body can make a huge difference in your recovery after.

So here’s my Monday advice: with all the other items you’re preparing for birth, don’t skip out on your pelvic floor!

Having that confidence to keep exercising, stay ahead of pain, relieve pains that do come up quickly, and knowing how to navigate your mobility and strength after both a vaginal or a c-section will put your mind at ease!

After 6 years in my own practice designing systems and programs that fill the gap for women’s health, I’ve seen the transformations from so many women who chose to treat their pelvic health like self care

Especially during life’s biggest transitions like pregnancy, postpartum, and perimenopause / menopause.

And that’s because your body is going through some major shifts. And you can do things to prepare and prevent the leakage, prolapse, and back pain.

A little TLC to your pelvic floor can teach you how to relax, release, strengthen, and incorporate it into everyday movements so you’re already ahead of the game.

When you prepare for birth, learn how to recover postpartum, and transition into menopause smoother, your pelvic floor will thank you!

How did I do???

Welcome to my page if you’re new here!

I’m a super opinionated women’s health advocate and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist in Lafayette, LA

I’m tired of hiding my truth because too many women over the last 6 years come to me repeating the exact same things:

“I wish someone told me sooner”

“I have so many problems now, but everybody including my doctor said it’s normal”

“I just don’t want to end up like my (insert family member) leaking all the time”

“Nobody told me I could birth in other positions”

“I had no idea my neck, jaw, ribs, and pelvic floor issues were all connected”

And the list goes on.

If you’re here for the calm sass (bc if you know me I’m actually super introverted) and the what else can we be doing instead, stick around and follow me!

I did kegels once…and I was totally miserable.

Here’s my story.

Let’s go beyond the kegel 👊🏻

If you’ve been excited to hear more news from Beyond the Kegel, my mission to advocate for women’s health and pelvic floor health, this new FREE guide is FOR YOU.

Let’s go deeper into the symptoms women overlook during pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.

Gone are the days where a sheet of paper with 100 kegels is the answer to pelvic floor problems or wanting to prepare yourself for a major life transition like pregnancy, postpartum, or menopause.

In this guide, I give you the most impactful questions you can start asking yourself about your pelvic floor in each of these phases without feeling like “I wish someone told me sooner”

Just drop a ❤️ and I’ll get the guide over to you!

Can’t believe it’s been 6 years with 1 little idea that turned into “holy crap, so many women need to hear this”

What started as just seeing a few patients privately turned into “I HAVE to use my business as a mission to speak the truth on women’s health”

And moving away and adopting a baby gave me some twists and turns along the way where I went a little silent on this topic

But it’s so clear to me that we still live in the kegel culture. The just tighten and squeeze your pelvic floor culture. The device and machine to kegel 1000 times for you. The dismissive to women healthcare system.

And I don’t stand for any of it.

Because I am opinionated. And I may step on toes but that’s ok because I’m speaking my truth and speaking to all the women past and future that I’ve helped near and far who NEED this.

If that’s you or you just plain actually want to hear my opinions, please drop me a ❤️ or a like!
