In honor of 7 years of TTG, I’m posting some of our team photos from over the years! Truly thankful for all the therapists who have ever worked within our garden.🪴🪏🏡

One of my favorite parts of The Therapy Garden is all the little moments of connection that happen outside the therapy room. Today it’s homegrown luffa seeds at our plant swap station. If you’d enjoy one, take one home. 🌿

Therapists don’t practice in a vacuum.

We practice inside healthcare systems.

Inside productivity expectations.

Inside documentation requirements.

Inside cultures that reward over-functioning.

Inside communities carrying trauma, oppression, grief, and chronic stress.

And all of that walks into the therapy room with us.

Yet we’re often taught to think about therapist regulation as an individual responsibility.

“Practice self-care.”

What if that’s only part of the story?

What if many of the stress related symptoms therapists experience aren’t “personal failures”—but intelligent nervous system responses to the environments we’re practicing in?

In Therapists Under Pressure, Ashley and I explore therapist regulation through a different lens.

Over two days, we’ll examine how nervous systems are shaped by relationships, identities, organizations, and culture—and how those forces influence clinical decision-making, presence, and the therapeutic relationship. We’ll explore why symptoms make sense in context, why presence isn’t perfection, and why regulation isn’t about never becoming dysregulated—it’s about recognizing when you’ve left presence and knowing how to return.

We’ll explore:
• The hidden pressures shaping therapists every day.
• How macro systems become micro experiences in the therapy room.
• Somatic principles that deepen clinical reasoning—not just interventions.
• Practical ways to stay connected to yourself, your client, and the relationship under pressure.

This isn’t a training about becoming the perfectly regulated therapist.

It’s about understanding the systems that shape us, so we can practice with greater awareness, intention, and humanity.

Therapists: A lot of us were taught how to regulate our clients.

Very few of us were taught how to recognize what’s happening in our own nervous systems while we’re trying to help someone else.

That’s what Therapists Under Pressure is about.

Not becoming a “better therapist” by trying harder.

Becoming a more present therapist by understanding the physiology happening in the room—both yours and your client’s.

One month from now, we’ll spend two days slowing down, practicing, getting curious, and building skills you can use in session the very next week.

If you’ve been looking for a training that’s experiential, practical, and rooted in nervous system science instead of just theory, I’d love to have you there.
