Tyler Arceneaux

Lafayette – Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Syrie Funeral Home for Tyler Arceneaux, 40, who died October 12, 2026, at his residence.

Tyler Arceneaux entered the world on June 21, 1985, born in Lafayette, Louisiana to his loving mother, Delsa Arceneaux.

Raised in the rich culture and warmth of Lafayette, Tyler spent his formative years in his hometown, attending local schools and forming lifelong bonds within the community he always called home.

To know Tyler was to know a true free spirit. He possessed a bright, infectious positive attitude that could lift the mood of any room he walked into. Unbothered by life’s small obstacles, Tyler moved through the world with an open heart, a quick smile, and an unshakable optimism. He taught those around him the beauty of living in the moment and finding joy in every situation.

Family was always at the center of Tyler’s life. He grew up alongside his beloved siblings, Tiara Arceneaux, Travis Arceneaux, Raymond Arceneaux, Jr., and Dallas George, Jr., with whom he shared countless memories, laughter, and unbreakable family ties.

Above all, Tyler’s greatest pride and legacy rest in his three cherished children, Tyler Mouton, Aaliyah Arceneaux, and Tranathan Arceneaux. His love for them was endless, and his positive spirit will continue to shine brightly through their lives.

Tyler was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Jane Ben and Leroy Ben; siblings, Travis Arceneaux Jr.; aunt, Julia Ben; and nephew, Tyreick Arceneaux.

Tyler’s warm heart, free-spirited nature, and uplifting presence will be deeply missed by his parents, children, siblings, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he has left us too soon, the light and positivity he brought into the world will live on forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Syrie Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Lafayette – Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Progressive Baptist Church for Rose Marie Clay Shelvin, 72, who died October 16, 2026, at her residence.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Rose Marie was welcomed by her young parents, Sidney and Julia, on a clear, crisp Friday morning. They were filled with excitement at the birth of their second child and her big sister, SueSue, was overjoyed with her little sister. Rose was a beautiful baby girl with a kind, loving spirit.

Rose Marie was a little social butterfly who enjoyed sharing time with her cousins and friends. She was elated as her family grew with the addition of her brothers, Sidney, Chilly Red, Big Mike. and Robert.

Rose Marie was curious, always eager to learn. She progressed through the Lafayette parish school system.

Rose Marie met the love of her life, Darrell Wayne Shelvin, and they were united in holy matrimony in 1980. Both Darrell and Rose loved children and became the proud parents of Oceania, Darrell III, and Kendrick. In addition to their three children, Rose and Darrell parented their nephew Cornell and nieces Charlotte, Julia Ann, and Goddaughter, Lavincia.

Rose Marie and Darrell opened their home and hearts and she became Nanny Rose to many including Trey Anderson, Sedera Joy Bolden, and LaDane Washington.

Rose Marie was a faithful member of Progressive Baptist Church for over fifty years. She loved her Church, she loved her Pastor, and most of all she loved her LORD. She was a dedicated member of the Usher Ministry and gave her best in service.

Rose Marie loved shopping, dressing up and sharing time with family and friends. Her home was often the gathering spot for Thanksgiving, Christmas and family celebrations. Darrell and Rose were famous for their Sunday Dinners that they cooked and shared with family, friends and their community. They loved all holidays, but Christmas, with all its glitter and glam, was definitely their favorite. Their home and yard shined bright with their beautiful Christmas decor.

Rose leaves precious memories with her children, Oceania, Darrell III, and Kendrick; her brother-in-love, Elliot Shelvin, who loved, protected and cared for her as the sister he never had; grandchildren, Dillyn Davis, Justice Willis, Faylon Davis Jr., and Harper Williams; and one brother, Robert Faulk; her best friend of over fifty years, Marlene Reaux Thomas.
