September is PCOS Awareness Month, and there’s an important update to know. 💚

Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) has been renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) to better reflect the complexity of the condition.

The previous name focused on “cysts” and the ovaries, but this condition can affect multiple hormone systems, metabolism, reproductive health, and more. The new name helps better represent the full impact of the condition.

During the transition, you may continue to see both PCOS and PMOS used.

Awareness and education can help lead to better understanding, earlier diagnosis, and improved care. đź’š

Southern OBGYN is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Lafayette, Louisiana.

We are an established OB/GYN practice dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized care to our patients. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in patient care, enjoys working with a close-knit team, and is ready to make a difference in the lives of the women we serve.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Current Louisiana RN license
• OB/GYN or women’s health experience preferred
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• A compassionate and professional approach to patient care
• The ability to multitask and work well in a busy office environment
• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to be part of a team

Responsibilities include:

• Providing nursing care to OB/GYN patients
• Assisting physicians and nurse practitioners with patient care and procedures
• Patient triage and telephone communication
• Patient education and follow-up
• Administering medications and injections as ordered
• Reviewing and communicating laboratory and diagnostic results
• Coordinating referrals and follow-up care
• Maintaining accurate electronic medical records
