Mouth breathing is a red flag🚩for so many other health conditions including: Sleep disordered breathing, Sleep apnea, Allergies, Impaired craniofacial development, TMJ disorders, Digestive problems, Speech problems, Asthma, Periodontal disease, Dental cavities, Tongue-tie, and Orthodontic complications.

Highlighting the unique and Chiral role dental hygienists play in comprehensive preventive dentistry, supporting both orofacial health and oral-systemic health —- promoting optimal development, and contributing to improved overall health outcomes.

I’m so excited and happy about the upcoming ASBA Annual Meeting in Phoenix, especially the Inaugural Global Pediatric Symposium. We have amazing speakers coming from Mayo Clinic all the way to Australia, and I feel grateful and honored to be part of this meeting. 🙏❤️🙌

This conversation is especially important because pediatric sleep health matters, and there is only a short window to influence craniofacial growth and airway development in ways that can improve health from childhood into adulthood. By supporting healthy airway development early, we can help reduce the public burden of sleep apnea while also improving health span and life span.
