Sorting through a loved one’s possessions after their death can be overwhelming. One way to make the task easier is to invite close friends or family members to help you.

While you may be tempted to tackle the task on your own, friends can provide emotional support and encouragement. Involving too many people could make the process more stressful, but working alongside one or two close friends can keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

How do you give back?

As a licensed cosmetologist I offer services like: manicures, hair styling and haircuts- free of charge for patients on Hospice. This has been such a nice way for me to use my skills with purpose. I have been volunteering regularly since 2023 and it’s brought me so much joy.

I started my first career as a cosmetologist right out of high school. I learned the importance of listening & the act of healing through services such as pedicures, haircuts, and hair coloring.

While working at the salon I noticed something so profound- We don’t JUST do hair??
We listen
We comfort
We support
We cheer on
We advocate
We heal the broken

All while ~doing hair~

To this day I believe hairdressers are some of the most unspoken angels in many people’s lives. Next time you see your hairdresser, give them a hug and tell them how grateful you are for their gift.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10
