We support adults with developmental disabilities to discover their capabilities and lead full lives.

The mission of Las Trampas is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to discover their capabilities and to lead full lives in their homes, at work and in the community. To meet the needs of the very diverse and underserved IDD population, we offer three distinct programs in Contra Costa County including our Licensed Adult Day Program (ADP), Adult Residential Model (ARM), and Independent/Supported Living Services (ILS/SLS).

Most people recognize Didi Conn the moment they see her.

For generations of Grease fans, she will always be Frenchy.

But there is another part of Didi’s life that many people may not know.

As the parent of an adult son with autism, Didi has spent years learning, advocating, challenging assumptions, and speaking about the importance of supportive families and loving communities.

On October 17, she will share that personal journey during An Evening with Didi Conn at the Lafayette Community Center.

It will be an evening filled with warmth, humor, honesty, and stories from both her celebrated career and her life as a parent and advocate.

General Admission tickets are $75. VIP tickets are $150 and include a Meet & Greet, appetizers and drinks, a photo opportunity, and premium seating.

Today we’re celebrating the International Day of Charity by honoring our Las Trampas participants who give back to the community with kindness and purpose.

With help from staff, our volunteer group is making a real difference. They help organize supplies at White Pony Express, join community cleanups, make blankets for the Trevor Eagle Foundation, and run a participant‑led advocacy group that reaches out to state legislators.

We’re highlighting their work today because this day is about recognizing people who strengthen their communities through service. Our participants show what charity looks like; helping others, building connection, and leading with compassion.

September is Healthy Aging Month

At Las Trampas, we honor this by ensuring older adults with IDD can continue living in the place they call home.

Our Residential Center for Elderly (RCFE) was created so residents can age in place with comfort, stability, and the support they need as their needs change. The RCFE provides accessible living spaces, personalized care, and a familiar environment where relationships, routines, and community stay intact.

Healthy aging means dignity, choice, and belonging. Through our RCFE, we’re proud to help residents maintain independence, connection, and joy throughout every stage of life.

But on October 17, Didi Conn is coming to the East Bay to share a story that goes far beyond the screen.

Didi is an acclaimed actress whose career has spanned more than five decades. She is also the parent of an adult son with autism, an experience that led her to become a longtime advocate for greater understanding, inclusion, and meaningful support.

National Senior Citizens Day • August 21

Today we celebrate the older adults who bring wisdom, joy, and strength to our community.

At Las Trampas, this day is especially meaningful as we continue supporting residents to age in place. To honor that commitment, we transitioned one of our homes into a licensed Residential Center for Elderly (RCFE) ensuring longtime residents can stay in the home they love with the staff they trust.
