There was lots to celebrate and one bittersweet adios as our Southern Speech therapists got together for a Friday Fiesta!

💗 We officially welcomed speech therapist Sarah Keating to our team and celebrated another little addition coming soon!

🎉 We celebrated Chelsea and Layne’s 5-year work anniversaries! We are so thankful for their dedication to Southern Speech!

♥️ And finally, we said a bittersweet adios to Mrs. Lindsay. We are so grateful for the last three years she has shared with us. She will be greatly missed!

Fun fact! Southern Speech now has TWO sets of sisters on our team! Sarah Keating is the older sister of our speech and feeding therapist, Ms. Maggie! ♥️

So much to celebrate and so many reasons to be thankful for this krewe! 🌮💃

Happy 5 years, Mrs. Chelsea! 🎉

Around five years ago, Southern Speech was looking to add a therapist with pediatric feeding experience. Through our work with clients and mentorship from therapists in our community, we had learned just how important the development of feeding skills is when looking at the whole child.

Chelsea joined our team shortly after, and we’re so thankful she did! ❤️ Her passion for feeding therapy eventually led her to pursue training in myofunctional therapy, adding another important piece to the care we provide here.

We are so grateful for Chelsea, her expertise, and the love she brings to her clients and families every day.

And don’t forget to stop by Tinsels and Treasures this weekend! Mrs. Chelsea has been working hard with the Junior League of Lafayette over the last several months to help put on this event.@

We want to wish Mrs. Joyce, aka Courtney and Katie’s Mom, a very Happy 70th Birthday! 🎉 Officially, she helps us with billing, payroll, and all those much-needed supply runs. But more importantly, she’s been behind the scenes supporting her girls and Southern Speech for the past nine years.

Today we’re saying goodbye to our graduate student, Lauren, from UL Lafayette Communicative Disorders Dept.! We loved having her with us this summer, treating clients alongside her wonderful supervisor, Mrs. Maggie. Thank you, Lauren, for all your hard work—and for the sweet cookie! Wishing you all the best as you begin your career. We know you’ll do great things!
