Finding out you have an ovarian cyst can sound scary right away, but most ovarian cysts are benign.

That still doesn’t mean you should ignore symptoms that keep showing up.

If bloating, pelvic pressure, pain, or other changes keep happening, it’s worth getting checked so you know what’s actually going on.

There’s a lot of fear around ovarian cancer, but understanding your own risk factors can help make the conversation feel a little less overwhelming.

What matters most is knowing your history, paying attention to changes in your body, and having a doctor who can help you make sense of what actually applies to you.

If you want to talk through your personal risk factors or have concerns you’ve been putting off, book a consult with us at Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery so we can take a closer look together. đŸ©ș🧡

You should never feel like you have to downplay a symptom, soften the way you describe it, or say sorry for taking up time at an appointment.

If something has changed in your body, you’re allowed to talk about it exactly as you’re experiencing it. That’s true whether we’re talking about bleeding, pain, menopause, s*x, or anything else affecting your health.

It’s a message I come back to throughout Fibroids Finally Heard because getting good care starts with being able to speak openly about what’s actually happening. ✹🧡

Some women get so good at functioning through pain that everyone around them forgets they’re hurting.

They still show up. They still work. They still take care of everyone else. And from the outside, they may look completely fine.

So if someone tells you she’s struggling, believe her. A little more patience, a little help, or simply checking in can mean more than you realize.

Be the person who makes someone’s hard day a little easier. 🧡

If I can give my daughter a head start on a few of them, these are the ones I hope stick. ❀

Some women only find out they have an ovarian cyst because it shows up on an ultrasound they were having for something completely different.

That’s why I don’t want “but it doesn’t hurt that much” to be the reason you dismiss a change in your body.

Not every cyst is dangerous, and not every cyst needs treatment. But knowing what you’re dealing with is very different from guessing. ✹💯

If something has been feeling different and it isn’t going away, come see us at Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery so we can take a closer look. 🧡

A normal Pap smear is still good news. It just doesn’t tell you everything about your gynecologic health.

That’s why I want you to pay attention to what’s changing in your body between annual visits too. New bloating, pelvic discomfort, feeling full unusually fast, or urinary changes that keep happening are worth bringing up instead of waiting for your next routine exam.

You don’t need to know what the symptom means before asking about it. That’s what the visit is for. đŸ©ș

If something has changed and isn’t going away, come see us at Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery so we can take a closer look and figure out what needs to happen next. 🧡

At this point, you probably know exactly what you’re signing up for here. ✹

Fibroids, women’s health, surgeon life, mom life, and a few opinions I’m probably not going to keep to myself.

If that sounds like your kind of feed, stick around. There’s plenty more to talk about. 🧡🧡

Bleeding after s*x can be really unsettling, especially when it keeps happening and you have no idea why. đŸ©žđŸ˜Š

Cervical ectropion is one possible explanation. It’s a common, benign change on the cervix, but that doesn’t mean every episode of bleeding after s*x should automatically be blamed on it.

✅ The important part is knowing what’s actually causing the bleeding instead of guessing or waiting for it to happen again.

Save this video for later, and if bleeding after s*x has become a pattern for you, come get tested with us at Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery so we can take a closer look and figure out what’s going on.

You don’t need to wait until the bleeding gets heavier, lasts longer, or starts taking over more of your life before you get it checked.

Abnormal bleeding can happen for different reasons, including fibroids, polyps, hormone changes, problems with ovulation, and other medical conditions. The important part is figuring out what’s causing yours so your treatment actually fits what’s going on.

That starts with getting evaluated instead of waiting for your symptoms to become “bad enough.”

Come see us at Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery so we can figure out what’s causing the bleeding and build a treatment plan that actually fits you.
