Welcoming Dr. Deirdre Farlow!

We are excited to introduce Dr. Farlow! Dr. Farlow will be joining us on 9/12/22!

I developed my passion for caring for children early in my education (prior to attending medical school). At this time I worked as an ABA therapist for children with autism spectrum disorder, and developed my appreciation of collaborating and partnering with the family for successful treatment of a child. I enjoy providing individualized and compassionate care to children and families from a variety of backgrounds. My aim is to address the unique needs of each of my patients, and to work closely with them and their families to achieve their goals by incorporating up to date treatment recommendations and evidence-based medicine. Additionally I have a particular interest in breastfeeding medicine and strive to support children and families in the early months of infancy.

I attended Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR prior to completing my internship and residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland in the field of pediatrics. During my residency training I was honored to receive both the Yasmin Ahmedi, M.D. Award for Outstanding Care and Compassion and the Outstanding Contribution to the area of Resident Teaching award. I came to work with Lamorinda Pediatrics directly after finishing my residency training in 2022.

I grew up between cultures, having lived in the United States and Australia with dual citizenship. I met my husband while living in Madison, Wisconsin; we have a sweet German Shorthaired Pointer dog named Dota (named after Lake Mendota!). More recently, our lives have filled with love for our son. As a family we like running and camping around the Eastern Sierras, Nevada high desert and Eastern Oregon.

Lamorinda Pediatrics is walking on 4/30/22 in honor of Dr. Peter Sheaff, retired pediatrician from Lamorinda Pediatrics, and all of those affected by this terrible disease. Dr. Sheaff is currently battling pancreatic cancer and is fighting like the warrior he is! Any support you can give while we walk to fight is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!

Our COVID vaccine clinics are fully booked! Once we secure more vaccine we will let you know about future clinics.
