Wildflowers don't compete.

Some bloom in May.

Some in July.

Some flourish in full sun.

Others thrive in the shade.

None of them wonder if they're behind.

As women, we're constantly comparing.

Our bodies.

Our motherhood.

Our healing.

Our timelines.

Nature reminds us that growth isn't a race.

It's a relationship with time.

🌿 Today's Practice

When you catch yourself comparing today...

Pause.

Take one breath.

Ask yourself:

"What does my body need today?"

Not hers.

Yours.

Today's reminder: You don't have to bloom on anyone else's timeline.

Yoga this Wednesday in Lafayette 💛

🌿 **Women’s Health + Prenatal Yoga | 9:30–10:30 AM**
I have **ONE spot left** for this week’s class!

And for the new moms…

👶 **Postpartum Yoga with Baby | 10:45–11:45 AM**

If the idea of bringing your baby to yoga sounds a little overwhelming, I want you to know:

**Babies get to be babies here.**

Nurse your baby. Change a diaper. Hold them. Soothe them. Let them sleep. Stop what you’re doing whenever they need you.

You don’t need yoga experience—and you definitely don’t need a perfectly content baby.

My postpartum class is really a blend of **gentle yoga + postpartum recovery + new mom group.**

Come meet like-minded local mamas while learning simple, gentle movements to support your body through the realities of new motherhood.

We also begin reconnecting with the **core and pelvic floor** after pregnancy and birth—not through intense workouts or pressure to “bounce back,” but through breath, functional movement, and gentle restoration.

This class is designed for moms at any point after birth when they feel ready for gentle movement, up until baby becomes highly mobile.

Come exactly as you are. Your baby can, too. 💛

You do not have to rush simply because the world around you is moving quickly.

There is wisdom in moving at the pace the moment actually requires.

We see it everywhere in nature. A seed cannot be hurried into becoming a flower. A body cannot be rushed through healing. A baby cannot be hurried through development. Growth happens through a sequence of small changes, each building on what came before.

Our bodies work this way too.

Strength develops through adaptation and recovery. Connective tissue remodels over time. The nervous system learns through repetition. Pregnancy unfolds week by week, and postpartum recovery is measured in months and years—not by how quickly someone can “get back” to exercise.

Yoga gives us the practice of aparigraha—non-grasping. Sometimes that means loosening our grip on the timeline we thought we should be following.

You don't have to keep up with the person beside you.

You don't have to push because everyone else in the class is pushing.

You don't have to fill an open afternoon simply because there is space on the calendar.

And you certainly don't have to rush your body through a season it is still experiencing.

🌿 Today’s Practice

Choose one thing to do a little more slowly today.

Walk without trying to make it exercise.

Take an extra breath before getting up from the floor.

Let your child finish the story.

Eat without doing something else at the same time.

Notice what becomes available when you stop hurrying through the moment.

🤍 Today’s reminder: Slow isn't the opposite of progress. Sometimes slowing down is what allows your body—and your life—to catch up with you.

Your next breath is a fresh beginning.

No matter what happened five minutes ago...

Your breath begins again.

This is why yoga starts here.

Not because breathing is the goal.

Because breathing changes how we move.

How we think.

How we respond.

Your diaphragm, core, and pelvic floor work together with every breath.

Every inhale creates possibility.

Every exhale creates support.

🌿 Today's Practice

Choose one routine moment today.

Before opening a door.

Before lifting your child.

Before answering your phone.

Take one full breath.

Then begin.

Sometimes one breath is enough to change the rest of the moment.

Today's reminder: Begin where your breath begins.

The healthiest ecosystems are built on connection.

A healthy forest doesn't depend on one extraordinary tree.

It thrives because everything is connected.

Roots.

Soil.

Rain.

Sunlight.

Community.

Women are no different.

Somewhere along the way we started believing we should be able to do everything ourselves.

But humans have never flourished in isolation.

Support isn't weakness.

It's biology.

🌿 Today's Practice

Send one text.

Accept one offer of help.

Invite someone for a walk.

Small acts of connection create resilient communities.

Today's reminder: Strong women aren't women who never need help. They're women who know they're not meant to do life alone.

Nature never asks spring to look like autumn.

Every season has a purpose.

Spring grows.

Summer flourishes.

Autumn lets go.

Winter restores.

Our lives move this way too.

There are seasons to build strength.

Seasons to heal.

Seasons to receive help.

Seasons to care for others.

Pregnancy.

Postpartum.

Menopause.

Motherhood.

None of these seasons are interruptions.

They are life itself.

🌿 Today's Practice

Instead of asking,

"When will I get back to normal?"

Ask,

"What is this season asking of me?"

Meet today's season with kindness.

Today's reminder: You don't have to bloom every day.

Strong roots aren't built in extraordinary moments. They're built in ordinary ones.

When we think about becoming stronger, we often imagine lifting heavier weights or mastering more difficult exercises.

But what if strength begins somewhere much simpler?

In how you stand while brushing your teeth.

How you breathe before lifting your child.

How you rise from the floor.

Your body doesn't only learn during exercise. It learns from the movements you repeat every day.

That's why I teach functional movement first.

We build roots before we grow branches.

Yoga has always honored this idea. Every pose begins by finding a steady foundation. Modern biomechanics agrees: efficient movement begins long before we ask the body to do something complex.

🌿 Today's Practice

Choose one movement you'll repeat often today.

Slow it down.

Take one breath before you begin.

Move with intention instead of habit.

Your body is always practicing something.

Today's reminder: Healthy movement begins with strong roots.

Community matters.

Especially during the postpartum season.

One of my greatest hopes is that every mom who walks into class feels welcomed, supported, and reminded that she doesn't have to figure it all out alone.

Thank you, Lauren, for sharing such a beautiful reflection. Reading words like these reminds me exactly why I do this work.

✨ August registration is now open, and I'd love to welcome you and your little one.

Support is not a sign of weakness. It's how life is designed to flourish.

Walk into a healthy forest, and you'll find that the strongest trees aren't growing alone. Beneath the soil, their roots are connected, sharing water and nutrients through an incredible underground network.

We aren't so different.

Somewhere along the way, many women began believing we should be able to do it all ourselves.

Especially mothers.

But pregnancy was never meant to be navigated alone.

Postpartum was never meant to be navigated alone.

Life was never meant to be navigated alone.

Yoga reminds us that we are connected. Modern science agrees—supportive relationships help regulate our nervous system, reduce stress, and improve our health.

Asking for help doesn't make you less capable.

It makes you human.

🌿 Today's Practice

Reach out to one person today.

Offer support.

Accept support.

Or simply remind someone they're not alone.

Small acts of care create strong communities.

And strong communities help women thrive.

🤍 Today's reminder: Just as the roots of a forest grow stronger together, so do we.

Motherhood doesn't have to be a race.

You don't have to fill every day with activities.
You don't have to keep up with everyone else's highlight reel.
You don't have to make every moment "productive."

Your children don't need a perfectly curated childhood.

They need you.

They need afternoons when you sit on the porch together.
Slow walks where nobody is in a hurry.
Books read one more time.
Messy baking projects.
Watching clouds drift by.
Splashing in puddles.
Laughing over popsicles that melt too fast.

The pressure to hustle, optimize, and do more has quietly crept into motherhood. Somewhere along the way, we started believing that if we're not enriching every minute, we're falling behind.

But childhood isn't something to rush through.

Neither is motherhood.

Some of the moments your children will remember most won't be the expensive outings or the packed schedule. They'll remember how it felt to simply be with you.

Slow down.

Leave space for boredom.
Leave space for imagination.
Leave space for conversation.
Leave space for rest.

You don't have to earn your right to relax.

Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is close the laptop, put away the to-do list, and join your child in the ordinary moments that become extraordinary memories.

Life isn't waiting for you after the checklist is complete.

Life is happening right now.
