Scientists studying friendship have even found similar brain activity among friends in regions responsible for a range of functions, including motivation, reward, identity, and sensory processing.

Cross Connections of Tippecanoe County is thankful to welcome Margarita Lora to our team. Margarita comes to us with over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Masters degree from Purdue University. Margarita works with children, adults and families. She was born and raised in Colombia, South America. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and is able to provide therapy in either language. Her areas of expertise include: children who present emotional and behavioral problems due to a history of trauma and/or difficult life events; working with parents struggling with parenting issues, adjustment to life events and parent/child relationship difficulties; and working with adults in a variety of areas. Margarita offers play therapy and uses a variety of techniques in order to help children express their emotions, process difficult life events, and improve in specific aspects. In her work with parents, she provides consultation about healthy child development, rearing practices and adjustment to family changes. In her work with adults, she attempts to meet clients where they are in order to work in a collaborative process of identifying problems, establishing goals for therapy, and finding ways to cope with difficulties. Margarita is accepts a wide range of insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. She has a flexible schedule and will work directly with her clients to schedule appointments.
