I think we all know the feeling when that adjustment and cranial work hits just right and you’re CHILLIN!!😌

Sweet girl enjoyed every minute of her visit😅

sometimes we are cutting it liiiiittle CLOSE 👀😂

But look — it is almost NEVER too late to start care in pregnancy 🤍

I’ve helped moms start care super early, super late, and everywhere in between.

And yes…

even ONE adjustment can absolutely be supportive.

But sometimes I giggle a little when a mom comes in at 39 weeks like:

“I just want one good adjustment to get baby ready for birth” 😌

Girlfriend 😮‍💨

We are absolutely going to do everything we can to support your body, your pelvis, baby positioning, tension, comfort, nervous system, and birth prep…

But sometimes?

We are cutting it liiiiittle CLOSE 👀😂

The reality is:

Your body has been adapting to pregnancy for 9–10 months.

Tension patterns.

Movement habits.

Pelvic balance.

Discomfort.

Baby’s position.

There is so much we can support in pregnancy — especially when we have more time.

That does NOT mean don’t come if you’re late in pregnancy.

PLEASE still come 😅

It just means if birth prep is important to you…

earlier is usually better 🤍

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about birth prep is that it either means:

✨ obsessing over every little thing

or

✨ “we’ll just see what happens.”

There is so much space in the middle.

No — we cannot control every outcome.

Trust me, I know that firsthand.

But preparation still matters.

Supporting your body matters.

Learning your options matters.

Finding providers who support your goals matters.

Understanding birth physiology matters.

Supporting your nervous system matters.

Birth prep can be so much more than bouncing on a ball at 36 weeks and hoping for the best 😮‍💨

Not from fear.

Not because we’re trying to control every outcome.

But because moms deserve support, education, and a team that helps them feel empowered walking into birth.

If you’re pregnant and realizing:

“Wait… I actually want to prepare differently this go-round” 👀

This is exactly the kind of work I love helping moms with 🤍

Because birth prep is not something you have to wait until the third trimester to think about.

This sweet girl first came in at around a month old 🤍

At the time, mom was noticing:

✨ gas pains + constipation
✨ colic/reflux symptoms
✨ latch struggles + bottle-feeding difficulties
✨ a strong right-sided preference + head tilt
✨ restless sleep + constantly tensing
✨ waking often trying to pass gas but unable to relax

Her little body was working HARD.

Deep down in her got, mom knew something just wasn’t right.

After supporting her body through care, working alongside other professionals, and helping calm some of the tension patterns we were seeing…

things started shifting.

Less discomfort.
Less tension.
More ease.
A baby who could finally settle and relax more.

And once we got through active care, we transitioned into monthly wellness visits.

Something I don’t always talk about enough is how much I love supporting babies through milestones — especially that first year.

Because babies change FAST.

Growth spurts.
Teething.
Illness.
Movement patterns.
Muscle tone.
Learning to crawl.
Learning to walk.

Monthly wellness visits gave us a chance to continue checking in, support development, and catch little things early if needed.

And today?

This visit was actually her check-in after turning ONE 🥹🤍

Mostly because I wanted to make sure she was feeling solid and confident in her walking skills before officially graduating from care.

Watching babies go from uncomfortable little bodies…

to thriving toddlers never gets old.

So proud of this mama for trusting her gut and supporting her little one every step of the way 🤍

One of the biggest questions I get from pregnant moms when baby has been breech or transverse is:

“If I do the things to help baby get head down, do I have to keep doing them? And could they make baby flip back?”

I understand why this feels scary.

When you’ve been doing stretches, positioning, walking, bodywork, or anything your provider recommended, it can start to feel like one wrong move is going to undo everything.

But the goal is not to force baby into position.

The goal is to support the body around baby.

Sometimes that means addressing pelvic tension, tight hips, SI joint restriction, one-sided discomfort, or areas where your body may be holding on.

If those things were making movement harder, then supporting your body does not mean you’re going to make baby flip back.

It means you’re helping your body feel more balanced, more comfortable, and more supported.

And no, that does not mean you need to panic-do every stretch, inversion, walk, and position you saw online 😅

Your body may need movement…
It may also need rest…

It’s finding the right balance of BOTH.

If baby has been breech or transverse…

sometimes the hardest part is figuring out what actually matters and what’s just adding stress.

There is already so much information, opinions, stretches, and “try this” advice floating around 😅

You do not have to figure all of that out alone.

Sometimes support looks like having someone help you understand what your body may actually need.

If you made it through all those slides — thank you for sticking with me! I know that was a lot of info.

The short version? Webster certification means specialized training to restore pelvic balance and create space for your baby during pregnancy.

And here at Birth Acadiana Chiropractic, Dr. Alayna has not only completed Webster certification but also advanced prenatal and birth prep training to support you through every stage.

Your baby doesn’t need to be breech or you have to be in pain to start care. A lot of mamas come in during their second or third trimester just to feel more aligned and prepared for birth.
