Some therapy days look like this. đź’ś

A little messy, a lot of movement, lots of play… and kiddos doing things in their own way.

Because therapy isn’t always sitting at a table or getting every activity “right.”

Sometimes it’s jumping, rolling around, getting messy, trying again, or just feeling comfortable enough to be yourself.

And yep… all of that counts.

This is a little peek inside a day at Connection Therapy Clinic.

Back-to-school season can bring a mix of excitement... and big feelings.

A new classroom. New routines. Busy hallways. Different expectations.

For some children, these changes are exciting. For others, they can feel overwhelming. And sometimes, that overwhelm doesn't show up until they walk through the front door after school.

If you've noticed your child coming home exhausted, struggling with transitions, or becoming upset over things that seem "small," their nervous system may simply be working hard to process a lot.

The good news? A little preparation can go a long way.

In our latest blog, we're sharing simple sensory strategies to help your child feel calmer, more confident, and more prepared for the new school year, plus a free "All About Me" PDF you can share with your child's teacher to help them understand what supports your child best from day one.

đź’› Because when children feel safe and regulated, they're better able to learn, connect, and thrive.

Sometimes you just need a reminder of what’s already true… especially on the harder days.

Your child isn’t behind.
They’re not too much.
And they’re not something to fix.

They’re learning, growing, and moving through the world in their own way… and that deserves patience, understanding, and support.

And I know… some days you might question if you’re doing enough. If you needed this today, take it as a gentle reminder… you’re doing more than you think 💛

Save this for the days you need it, and follow Connection Therapy Clinic for real support đź’ś

When a child is experiencing a sensory meltdown, it's easy to focus on stopping the behavior.

But what they often need most is support in regulating their overwhelmed nervous system.

Every child is different, and there's no single strategy that works for everyone.

That's why building a toolbox of regulation techniques can make such a meaningful difference.

In this carousel, we're sharing six therapist-recommended strategies that can help children feel safe, supported, and ready to reconnect.

Remember, regulation comes before learning, problem-solving, or communication.

Your kiddo may be ready for preschool… but are they ready for everything that comes with it?

Following routines, playing with other kids, communicating what they need, handling transitions, and building independence can all take practice.

Bright Connections is our small-group program for kiddos ages 3–5, designed to help them build these everyday skills in a supportive, play-based environment.

We work on communication, social skills, emotional regulation, independence, and school-readiness skills while meeting each kiddo where they are.

Supporting your child's emotional regulation isn't about always having the perfect response.

It's about helping them feel safe, understood, and supported while they're learning how to manage big emotions.

Some days will feel easier than others, and that's okay.

Emotional regulation is a skill that develops over time through consistent, caring relationships.

Every calm response, every moment of connection, and every time your child feels heard is helping them build that foundation.

You're not expected to have all the answers. You're simply one of the most important people helping your child learn.

đź’› If your child is having frequent meltdowns, struggles with transitions, or finds it difficult to manage big emotions, our team is here to help.

Sometimes the moments that seem the smallest are the ones that matter most.

The chat on the way to preschool.
The bedtime story you've read for the hundredth time.
The game your child asks to play again and again.

These everyday moments aren't "just" part of the day. They're opportunities for connection, and connection is where communication grows.

If you've been wondering how to support your child's speech at home, you don't need to add more to your already full schedule. Small, meaningful interactions can have a lasting impact.

In our newest blog, we're sharing simple ways to encourage communication through the routines you're already living, along with practical ideas you can start using today.

đź’› Because supporting communication doesn't have to feel complicated.

Our newest blog explains the difference between occupational therapy and speech therapy, the signs to look for, and why an evaluation can help provide clarity, not labels.

Sometimes, the first step isn't having all the answers. It's simply understanding where to start.

Six months into the school year, nonstop demands, and the end-of-year push can take a real toll on kids.
If you’re seeing more burnout or dysregulation, it’s not a setback—it’s fatigue showing up.
