🎉 Help us give a warm welcome to the newest members of our family: Gertie and Gilbert! 🦆✨

Our front porch just got a lot more charming. Gertie and Gilbert are officially on greeting duty, and they are already bringing so many smiles to our residents and visitors.

They might be a little quiet, but they are excellent listeners and always dressed to impress! Stop by the front porch to say hello next time you visit—they love the company.

Gertie and Gilbert met during the Great Spring Migration of 2018 over Lake Charles, where they instantly bonded over a shared love of perfectly manicured lawns and people-watching.

For years, they traveled the world, looking for the ultimate retirement destination. They spent summers in New England and winters down South, but they grew tired of the constant flying and the unpredictable weather. Gilbert always complained that his wings were getting stiff, and Gertie was ready to settle down somewhere she could show off her extensive wardrobe.

Their search finally ended when they spotted our beautiful community from above. Seeing our comfortable front porch and hearing the laughter from our afternoon socials, they decided to hang up their flight feathers for good. They officially chose us as their forever home, trading the wild skies for a stable career in professional porch greeting and full-time pampering.

🎨 Craft Day & Beautiful Connections! 🎨

Our residents had a wonderful morning flexing their creativity! We teamed up with our friend Christi Miller Reeves from Brighton Bridge Hospice for a special craft day, and the results are absolutely beautiful.

Together, everyone created these gorgeous, personalized cross wreaths to decorate their doors and rooms. There is nothing better than good conversation, teamwork, and a little glitter to brighten up the week.
