🚨 ATTENTION ALL HEALTHY BLUE MEDICAID CLIENTS 🚨
The Louisiana Department of Health has announced that its Medicaid contract with Healthy Blue will end on December 31, 2026.
Healthy Blue members will continue to have coverage through that date.
Beginning January 1, 2027, members will be enrolled with one of the four remaining Louisiana Medicaid health plans:
• Aetna Better Health of Louisiana
• AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana
• Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana
• Louisiana Healthcare Connections
📬 Transition Letters Coming Soon
Healthy Blue will mail transition letters to members by October 1, 2026. These letters will explain next steps and coverage options.
📅 Special Enrollment Period
Members may select their preferred plan during the special enrollment period:
October 15 – November 16, 2026
You can compare plans and make your selection:
• Online: myplan.healthy.la.gov
• Phone: 855‑229‑6848 (Mon–Fri, 8AM–5PM)
• Mobile App: Healthy Louisiana app (Google Play & App Store)
If a member does not choose a plan, LDH will automatically assign one — prioritizing family unity and existing doctor‑patient relationships to help maintain continuity of care.
🟦 Important Note:
This transition only affects Medicaid members enrolled with Healthy Blue. It does NOT impact private Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana insurance plans.
